Re: Average time it took CPAP to begin working for you

Den, thanks for the info. I wasn't aware vasoline is not a good idea so I will look at the other remedies. Lanolin cream or Lansinoh (for breastfeeding mothers) works great. You only have to use a tiny bit each night on upper lip and edge of nostrils. I find it really helps keep the pillows seated,...

Re: Average time it took CPAP to begin working for you

Really? I had never heard that there is damage that can be repaired, very interesting. How is the repair occurring, are blood cells getting re-oxygenated or something? It is usually called healing . No different from a broken bone, it knits up, so do cuts. Many organs can regenerate given time and ...

Re: Average time it took CPAP to begin working for you

Then if you are really damaged it might take anywhere from 6 weeks to a year to regenerate your organs and brain, because even if you are still tired it is still working on repairing damage. Being tired is only one symptom. So basically you need to unlearn bad sleeping habits, learn new ones, repai...

Re: Average time it took CPAP to begin working for you

Into my fourth month and really don't feel less tired, but do feel less anxious. My AHI is almost zero, and I don't snore anymore. A friend felt a huge difference using CPAP after just one night. I am not sure why some people immediately feel much less tired.

Thanks all, I'll go with Uncle Goog in the future.
Nan, your post "tappap – one word" reminds me of a funny Canadian sitcom we just started watching, Corner Gas. Anyone who watches that will know what I mean!

two questions about Tap Pap

I am doing pretty well with Swift Nasal pillows after 4 months, but when it shifts (usually when I turn onto my side), the air makes a bit of noise and I wake up and have to adjust the pillows, hose, and/or my position. Has anyone switched to Tap Pap and found that this shifting of the pillows no lo...

unable to Search this site

I know there are posts about the Tap Pap, in fact I see one on the board now. But when I search to see all posts about the Tap Pap, it returns 0. I've tried various ways to enter it, and have tried Advanced Search. Is the Search feature just not working right now, or is my brain not working?

Re: Can mask move your teeth over time?

Tap Pap sounds good, but I do have one slightly protruding front tooth, not sure if it's enough to disqualify me, as they suggest in their Tips section.
First I'll loosen the head strap... it has been comfortable but it could be looser I suppose.
Thanks!

Can mask move your teeth over time?

Hi all, been using nasal pillows for about 4 months with some success. (At least, AHI is next to nothing.) I use some lanolin to keep the nose piece from shifting or chafing, works great. However, most mornings I feel pressure has been on my upper teeth, similar to the pressure I felt after wearing ...

Re: My two-month success report

Thanks DoryC, I was just looking at that. When you raised the hose above your head, did you experience any increased eye dryness? The air vent will be raised up near the eyes. Even though it's blowing out, it still seems to cause dryness.

Re: Hose Buddy or Travel Hose Buddy?

Thanks for this information, everyone. I too am looking for one of these products or setups to keep the hose out of my way. However, all of them seem to raise the hose above your head. With my Swift FX, that means the air vent will then be up near my eyes. I've had some problems with eye dryness sin...
