Re: PR System One Software Options??

Also, there are a lot of acronyms in the CPAP world & it would be appreciated if someone could point me towards a glossary of them as I don't at this stage know what any of them mean. Thank you. I was just looking for the meaning of "xpap" and found it in the second part of the page you get to when...

Just curious, why no Sleepyhead on Equipment Profile menu?

Just curious, why no Sleepyhead on the User Equipment Profile menu under Software? Many experienced users here seem to use Sleepyhead, and I just downloaded it (against my Mac's wishes). Is it new, or unauthorized, whatever that might mean? Thanks.

Re: Feeling more tired after using CPAP?

Has anyone else experienced this, and had it get better? Yes and yes. And I know there are many others here who got worse before they got better. I was WAY more tired for maybe a month. Now I have been on CPAP about 6 months, and am feeling better. I am still adjusting to masks, trying to get best ...

Re: What to do in the middle of the night?

I think the orange glasses work. I wear them in the evening when I'm on the computer, like right now, and have been falling asleep pretty well right after.
If I wake up worrying about getting work done, then if I do some of it, I am less worried about it, and can fall asleep relaxed.

Re: First night report with questions

We often suggest that nasal pillow users go get some Lansinoh lanolin ointment and use a little of it on the nostrils to help prevent the nostril area from getting too tender or abrasions. Found in the baby aisle of most stores as breastfeeding mom's use it for sore nipples. It won't harm the silic...

<< On a related note, this would be a great presidential race for most honest quotes by politicians.

Joe Biden vs. Chris Christie >>

Haha that would be great. Every other line would be "Gimme a f*cking break."

Re: What to do in the middle of the night?

Haha yeah I wonder about that too. What I usually do is get up (after lying there for an hour, waste of time) and work on the computer and just stay up and get work done. Usually I stay awake all day and then sleep REALLY well the next night. Like last night. The advice to associate the bed with sle...

Re: first three nights with Tap Pap

What type of sleeper is tap pap best for? Side, stomach or back. d No problem for me on back or side. Have not tried stomach, but if you can turn your head to the side, should not be a problem at all. The thing just doesn't move, as long as your mouthpiece fits right and is centered under your nose.

Re: 1st night with CPAP and several questions!

Don't rule out nasal pillows or Tap Pap. I thought I was a mouth breather – well, I was – until I tried nasal pillows and found that the pressure from the air made it uncomfortable to breathe through mouth so I simply stopped. Swift FX worked great. I thought my nose was too stuffed up some nights, ...

first three nights with Tap Pap

There's a Tap Pap (search "tappap") thread that is 18 pages long, so I thought I'd start a new one. I have a brief report and a question. Report: I just switched from Swift FX nasal pillows, which were comfortable and very effective AHI-wise, but slipped and moved a fair amount, to Tap Pap. After so...

Re: Average time it took CPAP to begin working for you

Is your mask on too tight? What kind of headache are you having? I found that my headaches pretty much disappeared with cpap treatment. I do occasionally get a weather related headache, but the normal ones are gone. I think they were from the headgear -- it wasn't too tight, but there was slippage ...

I have a 6 prescription too, and so far (5 months) I have not needed the humidifier. Unless it is really dry where you are, you might want to try the therapy without it.

Re: Tap Pap Dilemma

I have two issues -- 1) What am I doing wrong that when I search for "Tap Pap" absolutely nothing comes up? I know there has been tons of discussion. I've tried it every which way I can think of - two words, one word, caps or not - I get no results. I had the same difficulty with the search. Folks ...

Re: Average time it took CPAP to begin working for you

Has there been damage at a cellular level to certain organs, and if so, what exactly happens to them? Thanks for any insight... Sleep apnea causes oxygen deprivation. Lack of oxygen means that your cells aren't receiving enough oxygen. So, that leads to damage to all organs - brain, kidneys, liver,...
