Re: An appeal to negative & critical posters.

Too many people don't bother to use the Search function. . Unfortunately the Search function is not very good. (Just try "Tap Pap".) And the "basic information" posted on the site includes some long technical articles that are not at all basic. I try those things first, but often cannot find a simp...

Laptops? There are flat ones? Mine looks like a big brick.
But, of course you guys are right. Thanks.

Re: checking CPAP in luggage

Yes, What will you do when either your luggage gets misrouted/disappears or your CPAP gets stolen from your luggage? That's why there is a medical exemption for traveling with essential medical equipment so that it is not counted against any carry-on limits or charges. You can always get new clothe...

piggy nose with Tap Pap

Just when you think you've found the right mask… waaaah, piggy nose is happening with my Tap Pap. The nose cones or whatever you call 'em are probably being pushed in a bit more than necessary, but the mouthguard device cannot be adjusted any farther - the nose cones are right on top of it. I do hav...

checking CPAP in luggage

On another thread, chunkyfrog said we should never check our CPAP when flying. Why not? I checked mine and it was fine; I padded it well, and it seems rather sturdy to begin with. Is there some other reason besides breakage that we shouldn't check them? Thanks.

Re: If you just lost a bunch of weight

I was wondering if there is actually a benefit to getting older, once you get past 60? So if you are over that age, and lose weight, can you dump your C-PAP? I don't think so, but if someone can provide proof maybe I will have that to! look forward to? My father is 93, so I have a good chance that ...

Re: HELP!!

SleepyHead warns (deep in the instructions) that Macs sometimes write weird stuff on the SD cards so you should click the little (physical) Write button off when putting the SD card into the computer. Then you have to remember to click it back on when putting it back in the machine. Would be good fo...

Re: Frequency of sleep dr visits

I had annual appointments for the first 4 years then stopped. The meetings were a mutual waste of time as there was really nothing to talk about. Any attempts to discuss machine reports or mask issues were referred to my pretty much useless DME. I've had two sleep docs and both were the same. Neith...

Re: Swift FX Headgear issues

I had the same mask and recently switched to Tap Pap. I like them both compared to the first regular nasal mask (non-pillows) I was given, but neither is perfect, as Pugsy says. For the sliding strap on the Swift FX, I did the same thing Rannie did. My (female) hair is pretty short but if you put th...

It's a snorkel!

So I was in the basement yesterday and glanced over at something and thought, "Why is there a nasal mask and hose down here?" But it was my snorkel! It made me realize there are some similarities. I am wondering if any other skin divers or scuba divers among us are finding it fairly easy to adapt to...

Re: first three nights with Tap Pap

It took me a few tries (boilings) to get my mouthpiece to fit snugly enough. The first night, it was dropping off my teeth almost entirely. I had followed some advice I saw on this forum to NOT suck too hard when they tell you to suck for two minutes. But that didn't work for me. I had to suck VERY ...

Re: Don't want to use my cpap anymore

My sleep study results were inconclusive because I only slept 3 broken hours (nerves) They put me on an adjusted pressure range because they did not know which pressure I would need. I do wake up when my pressure changes. According to my data I use 10 and have 1 or less AHIs each night I have yet t...

Re: Ordering supplies online?

I know a lot of people order online and have supplies sent to them. How is the shipping and turn around time? How does the insurance work for swapping out masks? How does the company work this out with your medical insurance company? Is this a painful/pain free process? Thanks! I ordered my Tap Pap...

Re: Help! Can't fall asleep with CPAP

Try a white noise machine in the bedroom, or even two of them. As someone sensitive to sound and light, I travel with both a white noise machine and a roll of black tape. In some hotel rooms it takes me 20 minutes to light-proof the place. I tape over all the green and red Power lights, even the bli...

Re: Just curious, why no Sleepyhead on Equipment Profile menu?

All the equipment choices that you see in the Equipment Profile menu....are tied to products that cpap.com either has sold in the past or is currently offered for sale. If cpap.com never sold it...the choice isn't there. Since SleepyHead has always been a free product...cpap.com has never sold it. ...
