Re: sleep apnea and anxiety

I was on Klonopin. 1/2 a MG at bedtime. After 3 months and finally dialing in a mask/bedroom decor/pillow/room temperature combo that was conducive to hose sleeping, I spent 2 weeks at 1/4 MG a night then cut it out entirely. That's great news John. Congrats! You were originally on 1/2mg per night ...

Re: sleep apnea and anxiety

What was the best thing was learning about Centrals one gets as one is falling asleep. Knowing they happen, when they happen I no longer get out of bed and eat everything I can get my hands on because "OMG I am freaking out about SOMETHING" now it is "Oh crap a central, settle down body" pet the ca...

What is UARS?

Could UARS register as hypopneas? I'm just wondering what is the definition of UARS. Is there a desaturation of Oxygen levels with it?

I'd love to know what you find out. I would like to use this mask as well over the Quattro...but I also can't keep my mouth closed.

sleep apnea and anxiety

Once I get used to my CPAP (maybe looking at a BiPAP next week) I'm wondering if it will help my anxiety. I know why apnea would cause anxiety, of course, but wondering if anyone has had experience with it? Also, I had more hypopneas than obstructions. is that another condition other than OSA or are...

Re: Weight loss to reduce apnea

My doctor told me that I need to lose about 20 pounds in order to help reduce apnea events. I have already lost 70+ pounds but he wants another 20. I do know that this is a good idea. In fact, I want to lose about 50 more. My problem is that I can't seem to lose any more. I have been stuck for abou...

Re: Not breaking thru - any words of wisdom?

Have you had your thyroid checked? This can cause some of the things you have mentioned...including the low breathing. I believe I have hypnoea a well, but they diagnosed with OSA. I had more of the hypopneas that the obstructions. My O2 went down to 87 percent at one point, but I don't know how man...

Re: Fluid in ears/Sinus infections

Loopylooloo please let me know how your appointment tomorrow goes! The ENT said CPAP can cause issues with the inner ear in some people. He told me, essentially, I'd have to wait and see how bad it got and that they might would lower my pressure (I don't have a set one yet...I'm using APAP) that wo...

Kidding aside, positional therapy seems like a good suggestion.
I haven't even got the bill for mine yet. I'll probably feel sick too.

CPAP and ear issue Part II

I asked some questions about CPAP and oddly shaped inner ears before and someone suggested I'm trying to get out of using CPAP. I am not. I desperately want to feel better...not worse...so I am genuinely concerned about how CPAP may be affecting my inner ear. I have an dysfunctional eustachion (spel...

Re: New user- Why does CPAP make me feel sick?

I tried to update my info again. The doctor changed my setting to just 4. No range anymore. He discontinued that feature. this is due to the side effects I am dealing with. I recognize that the pressure is not normal but I'm trying unsuccessfully tolerate this treatment. I am late 40s female and on...

Re: CPAP and ear issue

Oh, yes, I got what you meant after I read it again. And according to my ENT, it may be hurting me more right now. He does seem to think it is a cold causing the issue. He suggested I might have to wait another week to really try it again. He is also the first one who talked to me about my sleep stu...

Re: CPAP and ear issue

I meant what are you doing with CPAP? If you can't sleep with it right now, I don't understand the point of this. You've spent your whole life sleeping without CPAP; what's another few more days? Oooh...you mean just wait to find out what is going on before I try it again. I think I get you now. I ...

Re: Sleep specialist and neurologist. Same thing?

A respiratory therapist that is concentrated on Sleep studies can tell you a lot about whats going on in your body, just because we don't have "md" attached to our full name doesn't mean we are clueless. I have witnessed so many times doctors have come to us with absurd orders for the Vent settings...

Re: CPAP and ear issue

I am at a loss what to do. I don't want to risk hurting my ears anymore, but don't want to risk hurting my brain anymore either. What ARE you doing now? Waiting for my cold to clear up, going to an ENT tomorrow afternoon. Sleeping propped up and on my side, but I am going to try the CPAP again toni...
