Re: Sleep Apnea AND.... something else
The thing that has helped me the most was buying a tempurpedic bed that has a buzzy feature (like a baby chair). It gets me to sleep every time, and this is after 45 years of suffering from same as you. If you can't afford a new bed, consider just the foundation which is the part that buzzes. If tha...

Re: first sleep study - complete waste of time?
Just keep on plugging away. Don't stop no matter what obstacles come. It will be worth it. When its time to find a mask that fits well, this is often the most challenging phase. Remind yourself not to give up till you find the right one. Took me trying about 10 different types until I found the one ...

Re: Help! CANNOT ADAPT
I have the same machine as you and didn't read the manual to know all the things I could change. Go online to find out how to access the clinician menu, and what each menu option means. It will be a night and day difference once you put an hour of time in to learn the variables. Make sure EPR at 3. ...

Re: first sleep study - complete waste of time?
I started my testing in 2008, with non conclusive results, so more tests until 2009. A few delays while trying to find a better clinic after going to a dud. Finally got into the right clinic in 2010 and got my machine in early 2011. Used it for a few times then stopped after a major family emergency...

Re: Tricks to stay asleep
I guess blocking the light is all that its doing, but for some reason I can really sleep better, even with my discomfort and frequent waking during CPAP. Until I saw this I assumed you were going to say it had something to do with leaks or exhaust air no longer blowing around your eyes. I frequentl...

Re: apnea - just diagnosed - effect on marriage
I felt very weird about wearing the mask in front of my hubby, even though we've been married 20 years. It still made me feel like a weirdo at first. Something practical that helped me was using nasal pillows mask instead of the full face or even nose mask. It just seems less present. And a lot less...

Tricks to stay asleep
I found one trick that makes a significant difference in my ability to stay asleep during CPAP treatment. Otherwise I wake up like clockwork after 2 to 3 hours and take the mask off. The trick, and its simple, is that when I use an eye mask, I often sleep through the night and even sleep in way past...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE
Does anyone use all the sizes that come in their package: small medium and large?
I feel like when I try them on, any one of them might work. I get a decent seal on all three.
Does anyone successfully use the other sizes that are not what they were fitted for?

I was on Lisinopril for 4+ years. I changed to Losartan and the coughing stopped almost immediately.

Ps. Case in point, they even sent me for more information to a portal that was just for providers to log in.

Re: Newbie with CIGNA Needs Advice
Recent first time experience with Care Centrix, I had nothing but employee confusion, lost paper work multiple times, non response. It is an understatement for me to say that between my recent experience w/ Cigna, Care Centrix and Apria -- the system is completely and utterly broken. Something must ...

Re: Turning off the light on a S9
Two things: 1) eye covers at night work wonders. I can sleep so much better with them, as all the ambient light is blocked, including the kids turning hall lights on and off all night. 2) I recently found a new menu setting that automatically turns off my ResMed if I take off my mask, and auto start...

Re: C-Pap use and coughing
I had a similar issue where I was coughing chronically for a long time. CPAP definitely made it worse.
Turns out it was my blood pressure med, which was an ACE inhibitor called Lisinopril. Once I changed med type my coughing stopped.
