Re: Another new user lost in the wilderness

Been about 2 weeks since I posted, so I figured I'd give an update. I've used the machine every night except 3 the past 3 weeks. Since I got the Padacheek liner the leaks, while not gone, have become much easier to manage. Got the humidity dialed in, and really haven't had as much trouble adjusting ...

Re: Attorney-urges-Congress-end-sleep-apnea-claims-abuse

I work with a bunch of ex-Navy guys (no females). I can say that is definitely a joke to them and they play the system for their benefit. I am not taking a side as to whether it is right/wrong, but in my experience it is a money-maker for some of them. As one who has contended with Obstructive Slee...

Re: Another new user lost in the wilderness

Last night was not comfortable, but I feel better today than the previous 3. Woke up with water coming in from tube around 1:30 and had to turn down humidification. Don't have a heated airline. Throat was dry anyway. It's going to take a couple of nights to dial it in right. But if that's my primary...

Re: Another new user lost in the wilderness

Night 3 done (sorry, but I decided I'm kind of keeping a running log of it here for my own benefit). Pretty much the same as the others so far: woke up every 2-3 hours, dry throat, lots of gas inhaled (woke up with my stomach hurting at one point), couple mask leaks in different places from the nigh...

Re: Another new user lost in the wilderness

Thanks again for the kind comments. I'm doing the best I can with it, although I have been VERY tired today. The whole thing is making me very anxious. Knowing it gets better and I'm not alone is the key. Thanks to everyone for communicating with and encouraging me. I don't have a smart-card reader ...

Re: Another new user lost in the wilderness

Thanks for the kind comments. I especially got a smile out of stormy's reply. I'm still figuring out the acronyms and lingo, but here's what I know so far regarding my equipment. ResMed S9 Elite (I think) - not with Autoset, just a constant 11 cm pressure with a 45 min ramp from 5 cm pressure. The t...

Another new user lost in the wilderness

Been lurking in the rafters the past couple of weeks since my diagnosis. Last night was my first night on the CPAP. I know everyone on here has heard it all before, but here's my story. Hopefully writing it out will make me feel better. Male, turn 38 next Saturday (5/25), 6'2", ~200-205 lbs, single ...
