Re: How does an ASV work?
also, any difference between respironics ASVs and resmed ASVs? Krakow seems to exclusively rx resmed's because they're better . I think I would have to disagree with you on that, Palerider. I've used three different Respironics ASVs. The original, which had a setting just for EPAP and then a Min an...

Re: Clinician Manual for ASV?
Pugsy,
I've been looking around for a clinicians manual for the Respironics ASV, System One ever since I started this machine about six weeks ago. Also, is this the same machine as a regular Respironics ASV (meaning 'System One' doesn't mean much)?
Thank you.

That is a good article and certainly relevant to the audience or readers on this site.
Another way to look at this is to see what may happen to each of us if we choose to discontinue our apnea therapy.
Thank you for taking the time to post the article!

Re: Central Apnea - Nice info
Thank you as well, MetsFan. I have developed an inordinate amount of nightly Central Apneas after doing so well with my Obstructive Apnea. Your link helps me understand it a little more but this new development is concerning and I am currently using my CPAP but severe fatigue has set in. Luckily, I ...

"I could make them eat their words. Thought about having ECT (shock treatment). If I have even mild untreated sleep apnea while having ECT, they will brain damage me." Whoa! A big potty mouth with no real logic or substance to each post. Plus, you have contemplated receiving brain damage to prove a ...

True dat ala. I can't believe how lucky I was to get the help I needed from the right person when I started my CPAP and was pretty clueless about Apneas, the equipment, and all the insurance run around. Man, I was lucky (and thankful). If I was a newbie now, I believe I would be off to the next boar...

Re: DME problems
Hey Jesse, I had terrible problems with American Home Patient as well. For this reason, I looked up medical supplies in my home town and saw that one was fairly close to my house. I called them and they took my BC/BS insurance. Now, a simply thirty second phone when I need anything, they ship it, an...

Re: Help selecting from four DMEs
American HomePatient seriously had one of the top ten worst customer service experiences that I've ever had the displeasure to do business with. I wrote the company headquarters stating what happened and expressed my dissatisfaction. Keeping with their very poor customer focused skills, they never c...

Hey Possum, CPAP.com sells velcro straps with clips for your hose. You put the velcro strap on the hose and then you can clip the hose to your bed. Then, when you pull on the hose, your are pulling on the clips on the side of your bed instead of your machine. The straps are not expensive. I use thre...

Seems like a rough situation. A lot of people aren't aware that your dentist can write scripts for your CPAP equipment as well as your sleep doc or family physician. If you have a good relationship with your community dentist, perhaps he or she would be willing to help you in a jam. Good luck, TheWino

Cnaumann, These insurance giants put up so many impediments to deter the average person from following-through to get payment. Congratulations are in order. I'm very happy to hear that you jumped the barriers and got payment for a service that you already pay for and that should be much, much simple...

sleep_quest, I've utilized the clip you sent both of the past two nights and it works wonderful. The best part about the clip is that it keeps the hose from pulling on the pillows in my nares which gives me a more comfortable fit. I really like it. You went the extra mile for me because the envelope...
