Re: Finding the right nasal pillow
Hi bkkjames, You might also look at the Opus 360: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/fisher-paykel-opus-360-HC482A-CPAP-Mask.html The lower part of the nasal piece is angled away from the upper lip and gives pretty good clearance. I have mustache/goatee and the angle is enough that the nasal piece doe...

If you just consider quantity and price, medical supplies can reach astronomic costs. TobraDex (antibiotic eye drops) is one of the highest priced liquids in the world.
Name brand TobraDex (not the generic) is about $135 for 5 ml.
That's $102,206 per gallon.

Sometimes you can make a good guess from some of the Sleepyhead data. See a post I made here:

Re: Thinking of trying a new mask for summer - nasal pillows
My pressure is also 11, and I use nasal pillows. I wear the Opus 360. I get no leaks at all unless I accidentally open my mouth. A friend of mine also uses the Opus 360, and his pressure is 15. https://c1199712.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/Opus-Pillow-Mask-Profile.jpg I'm a side sleeper and the Opus 360 work...

Re: First night with myzeo mobile
What are you trying to get out of this electronics? How about practicing good sleep hygiene? Making sure your CPAP is doing its job? Eating a good diet? Eliminating all sources of caffeine? Having a reasonable exercise period every day? Having some relaxation every day? Reviewing your medications w...

Re: My Zeo site is gone.
Doesn't the open source zeo data decoder viewer (previous thread) already do that? The decoder you're speaking of is predominantly a Java library. There is a Java command-line applet that can generate the .csv from the .dat file included with it as a sample, and it works, but it's not the most prac...

Re: My Zeo site is gone.
With the 2.6.3O firmware, the data is written unencrypted to the SD card. All of the required data is there such that a program could be written to: Display the sleep staging graph Display all other information such as the sleep score, time in each stage, etc. Generate the same Excel file that the Z...

Re: UP bracelet by Jawbone
While the device is interesting from a pure data point of view, I stand by my assertion that in terms of sleep staging , the device is useless. You may indeed correlate your morning feel (good or bad) to the report that the device provides; e.g. You feel good when the device reports more "deep" slee...

Re: UP bracelet by Jawbone
It purports to use your body's motion to claim sleep staging (i.e. reports "light" sleep when you're moving or changing positions during sleep, reports "deep" sleep when you're still). Completely useless, as your body's motion is only very weakly related to your sleep stage. Plus, it doesn't report ...

Re: Can I Discern Stages/Depth of Sleep from Sleepyhead Data?
Not with a high level of certainty. However, see the following graph I made that correlates Zeo data with Sleepyhead data. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t89443/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=89334&p=820202#p820202 For me at least, my REM periods correspond with a more variable tidal volume, while my deep s...

Re: Next Generation of Machine Deisgn: PR S2's and Resmed S10's
What I would love to see in the next generation of machines is integration with Zeo's sleep monitoring technology. We've seen over and over that OSA gets worse during REM sleep. If a headband similar to the ones used by the Zeo Bedside or Zeo Mobile was available that sent sleep stage data to the AP...

Re: What graphs show REM and how?
I have a Zeo Bedside which can show my sleep stage, and I made the following graph using its data combined with some Sleepyhead data: http://www.danwilsonsoftware.com/image/REM-TidalVolume-Correlate.png I made this by taking the Tidal Volume graph from Sleepyhead, and making a sleep stage graph from...

Re: Newbie -- Need Help Getting Equipment (Evil DMEs)
Something doesn't smell right about that... The DME is charging the insurance company the "balance biling" they tried to get you to pay by charging under an additional code? What would concern me is working with someone with questionable ethics, and if the insurance company doesn't pay the extra ch...

First Two Nights ... Wow!
My first two nights with my machine immediately convinced me that I should have done this years ago. Let me preface this by saying that I'm probably the exception and not the rule. My first night started with getting the machine set up, getting the mask adjusted as best I could, and estimating some ...
