OT: I've been told I'm officially old now......

that I need reading glasses. I'll be 40 in August so in the grand scheme of things I'm NOT that old, although some days I feel like I'm 104 with all the aches and pains I sometimes get. Oh I also found out that someone I looked after as a toddler is now married and expecting their first child. So I ...

Re: Is Humidifier really necessary?

As others have said, personal choice.

I use my humidifier because if I don't my nostrils feel like someone has sandpapered them during the night

Re: Cat bites mask/hose and turns off machine

Stop the cat coming into the bedroom... lock the door!

Sure the cat will be annoyed for a couple days/weeks or years, but better than it turning off your machine

Re: Mold in water chamber...what the heck?

Very good advice given.

Having two tanks is a great idea. I use one and the other is in the dishwasher. When I didn't have a dishwasher, I'd soak one of them in a solution of vinegar and hot water. I do this fortnightly or sooner if I think its needed (I am a lazy cleaner)

Re: annoyed with my therapy need to whine

I’ve been on XPAP for over a year and I still can’t get more than 6 hours. I take two naps per day. I’m an insomniac too. I switched to bipap in hope of getting more sleep…it worked. I was getting only 5 hours of sleep now I often get a little over 6. Still tired and want more. XPAP obviously doesn...

Re: annoyed with my therapy need to whine

I'm far from expert, but if your AHI is below 1, doesn't that mean that the leaks aren't affecting the therapy much? Is your sleep continuous? Or do you have periods of insomnia? Is there maybe another cause for your tiredness? You are right fishy. I am a bit of an insomniac. I'm thinking there is ...

Re: annoyed with my therapy need to whine

Thanks for the suggestion winnie, I'll look into that mask. Wildboar if only it were that easy. 1. In Australia masks are usually double or even triple the cost that you guys pay. I don't have $300+ just laying around to try a mask, and no I haven't found anywhere in my state that allows returns on ...

Re: annoyed with my therapy need to whine

I only get sleepy at the wheel if I have to wake up early eg before 7 am. So I've changed my work hours to start in the afternoon. When I say I feel tired I mean I don't wake up feeling refreshed, there is always some degree of feeling I could do with more sleep. I worry about loosing my license bec...

Re: annoyed with my therapy need to whine

I don't know how tired you are but In my opinion if you are so tired you are falling asleep at the wheel you shouldn't be driving at all, for your sake and the sake of others. For the leaks have you tried chin up strips? They work great for me. http://www.drugstore.com/chin-up-strip-for-dry-mouth-a...

annoyed with my therapy need to whine

According to sleepyhead my mask is leaking way too much, I'll fix leaks when I notice them but its obvious many are happening when I'm asleep. My AHI is usually below 1. I like the hybrid mask as it feels comfortable and I can read a book while wearing it I still feel tired and the only real benefit...

What the heck has nasal hairs holding moisture got to do with a dry mouth?

Re: Will SD chip show Sleepyhead data downloads?

Tell the rep you want to see the law where it says you can't access YOUR own data.

I don't believe they can tell on an SD card if you've accessed it. But someone with more knowledge should hopefully come along soon and put you right

Re: My prescription clusterf**ck; DME doesn't take my insurance.

Oh, I should mention this now that I've found out. My sleep doctor says that my high pressure rate will be 15; fairly sure, but as more info comes in, more info goes here. She said that the tech at the lab had it too high on titration, and that is why I got farty in the morning. He also didn't run ...
