See my previous note in the thread below for a description of my previous (negative) experience using a dental appliance. The dental appliance made my AHI much worse. I am a happy CPAP user now.

Re: Why did you choose cpap over the OA?
My sleep apnea journey began with a oral appliance and finished with CPAP, so I can give you my perspective When I was initially diagnosed with sleep apnea, my sleep doctor mentioned both solutions, OA & CPAP and gave me the choice of which to pursue. Initially I went with the OA solution. For me th...

Re: SWIFT LT or SWIFT FX??
Hello, I've used both the LX and the LT. In my case, I strongly prefer the LT, since my leaks are much lower. The flap of the seal points inward so that as the mask pressurizes the seal tries to expand outward and seals eve...

Re: Sleepyhead & leak data
Hello pugsy, New to CPAP but I'm learning a lot from your posts. I will need to purchase a machine soon when my DME trial is up. In a message above you mention that "large leak" territory has different thresholds for the resmed & respironics machines. Can you explain why they're different? Is this a...
