ATS updates clinical practice guidelines on sleep apnea

The American Thoracic Society has released new clinical practice guidelines on sleep apnea, sleepiness, and driving risk on non-commercial drivers. The new guidelines, which are an update of a 1994 ATS statement on this topic, appear in the June 1, 2013 American Journal of Respiratory and Critical C...

Re: Amount Paid by Insurance for Items Purchased at Cpap.com

Unfortunately my insurance has separate deductibles for in network and out of network. I had already blown through my in network deductible but my sleep study and cpap equipment was all out of network hence an extra $1000 out of my own pocket to clear the out of network deductible. The insurance com...

Re: Amount Paid by Insurance for Items Purchased at Cpap.com

I think the allowed amounts are low because cpap.com is out of network and has no relationship with the insurance company. If I had used the DME's connected with the insurance company the amount quoted by DME and Insurance was close to $1700 and that was renting the machine not purchasing it. By goi...

Amount Paid by Insurance for Items Purchased at Cpap.com

Just wanted to post my EOB for a claim I submitted to the insurance company myself for items purchased from cpap.com The rates paid are based on out of network at 50% and $1000 deductible. Did not think they would pay so I am very happy to have received something. https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/s...

Re: Advice for those here with chronic pain

I had to give up on the Ibuprofen, tylenol etc because of the risk to my organs. The doc put me on relatively low dose narcotics and luckily they made no difference to the sleep apnea.

Re: Before Obamacare is very bad. After, don't ask.

The USA does not want those 'foreigners' telling them what to do even if it is a good idea.

Re: Doctors treat thinner patients better

I have the opposite experience. I went through 3 doctors before one said I should lose some weight and that was after I pushed by asking why none of my other doctors would tell me I was overweight.

Re: Pulse Oximeter 50D+ HELP!!!

You must use the usb cable that came with the meter. It has a circuit inside to convert data from serial to usb. A normal usb cable will not function correctly. imfletch, on my 50D+ there is no upload data option only alarm, record and exit. So long as you can see the menu then it is in the correct m...

Re: OT - Obama confesses to being a socialist and a foreigner

You do realise President Obama's confession about being a socialist and foreigner were made on the advice of his legal team so if he is impeached he can say 'I admitted to that in a public function' therefore he was not hiding it.

Sorry got to go, the Tea Party bus just pulled up.

Re: Before Obamacare is very bad. After, don't ask.

Sheffey, did you notice flutterby11 did not mention money or expense in the post you quoted. She did mention time and effort which does not always translate into large amounts of money. Did you also not read 'ICD-10 but it is meant to be so much more specific than what we have now, especially things...
