Re: Trying to remember mask name

Almost ANY mask that seals around the nose has potential for pressure sores if worn too tightly.

Re: First night with Quattro FX FFM

You know Dave, none of those AHIs sound that bad. You have not said if you have tried nasal pillow masks (like the Swift FX). They are designed to allow people to sleep on their side. Actually, for you, the older Swift LT might be better because it allows you to direct the hose over your head so the...

Re: Taping mouth for mouth leak.

Similar to Pugsy, my mouth breathing didn't last long. Initially, I used the FitLife TOTAL face mask (covering mouth, nose and eyes) and I would just place a small piece of painter's tape vertically across the center of my lips. It only took about two weeks to notice that I wasn't mouth breathing an...

Re: Newbie saying hello.

Dozy, You and I started therapy on the same day. Just last week I noticed I was no longer making my usual three bathroom visits each night. In fact, I did a posting about it here. Now, I NEVER get up to go visit the bathroom. I suspect you will eventually have similar results. (You did not say...are...

Re: Minimizing aerophagia?

I have never had this problem, but I did see a video from an RT online that suggested rolling a pillow under your head so that you essentially sleep with your chin in your chest. This position, he explained, pinches the throat and discourages air moving down toward the stomach.

Re: How do you fully exhale?

We all began this way. It takes a while to become accustomed to breathing against a hurricane If your pressure is high enough, you may even have a few mornings of sore chest muscles (like you have following a cold when you have coughed so much your muscles are taxed.) But like any muscle, the more y...

Light-headed...dizzy

I am more than a month into therapy. numbers starting to look really good, energy levels through the roof and generally feeling great, except... My blood pressure is dropping. Perhaps doc needs to lower my meds...bp is suddenly hovering around 85/60. When I stand, I often feel light-headed or dizzy ...

Re: More leaks with Lansinoh

Has anyone ever tried "Tacky Fingers" around the opening of their nostrils (nares)?
Seems like that might create just the non-slippery surface needed.

SWIFT LT or SWIFT FX??

To those who have tried both...which is the better mask?
I have been using the LT, but wonder what improvements were made when the FX was constructed.

Apneas and Dreams

Just wondering why my leak rate, limitations, etc. all seem to go higher when I'm dreaming.
Is this normal?
