Not a good day....
I don't know if it is exhaustion from not having help yet or depression but today is a really bad day. I can't lift my arms and I can't think straight and I just keep crying and having anxiety attacks. The med supply company won't call back and my husband just told me, by yelling, that he won't leav...

Re: Second Sleep Study Kinda in Denial
You have found wrong then. It's out of line and it's making me leave the group. So good luck with all of you. Why would you tell a person who is already scared "You're going to die." WTH is wrong with some of you? Do you have your internal switches turned to off? Holy crap...this is why my family to...

Can you buy your own cpap machine?
The supply people are making it sound like I will be stuck with whatever cpap machine they give me ... can I just buy my own? They said I will have to rent it for 10 months, as billed to my insurance, and then after that the insurance considers it purchased. What if they give me something I don't th...

Holy crap...this is why my family told me to get the hell out of these groups. Yes, they can be helpful for equipment, but damn they can also leav...

Re: Second Sleep Study Kinda in Denial
They've checked my heart actually...but thanks for suggesting something that would keep me calm. One: http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/what-you-need-to-know-before-you-meet-your-dme-part-i/ for the person who said they have anxiety attacks.. might be a true cardiac problem, not a mental problem. If ...

Re: Second Sleep Study Kinda in Denial
Women cry all the time so it's normal for us. Panic and anxiety suck. One doctor wanted me on meds, but my main doctor (primary are) wanted me to wait until I found out for sure I had sleep apnea and also to see a counselor in the meantime. She gave me some quick acting ones, but not the longterm me...

Re: Second Sleep Study Kinda in Denial
LOL! Some have suggested I start smoking or drinking something to take care of my mood swings! I am absolutely in denial and having a very hard time. I woke up at 8:30 this morning with a panic attack. I missed church...i really needed to go so I'm sitting in my living room bawling with my poor six ...

How do you cope while you wait?
I'm trying to cope with all this while I wait for my cpap (I'm calling them tomorrow to see how long it will all take...they just found out about my diagnosis at the end of the week). How did you cope while you waited? I'm scared of the brain fog I get...I'm at the point I'm afraid to leave the hous...

I am absolutely in denial and having a very hard time. I woke up at 8:30 this morning with a panic attack. I missed church...i really needed to go so I'm sitting in my living room bawling with my poor six year old son trying to comfort me. I want to escape and go to my parents today but I don't want...

Re: Newly diagnosed...pretty upset
Did you not read any of this? I don't have a cpap, a machine, a pressure or anything. So...what do you want me to do about that? Sorry to be grumpy but I'm not getting sleep until I get a cpap and about 15 people on other boards have told me that and freaked me the hell out already..... Hi - I think...

Re: Newly diagnosed...pretty upset
That's good to know I guess...my imagination is sometimes bigger than reality. I have a really hard time remembering "I don't know until I try" and instead jump right to "OMG!!!! I can't DO THIS AND I AM GOING TO FREAK OUT COMPLETELY!" I said the same thing about the sleep study and did fine. : Don'...

Re: Newly diagnosed...pretty upset
I'm working through reading and responding to all of your encouragement. Thank you. Most days I am pretty alert and not too tired. Today I'm a bit more tired...maybe I'm a little bit down still too...so I'm taking it easy and trying not to focus on it too much. I wish the doctor had had something se...

Re: Newly diagnosed...pretty upset
The idea of air being blown down my nose and throat freaks me out. But thank you for all this advice! I'm going to read over it again when I hear from the respiratory therapist. First know that many of us had to go through an adjustment period with the machines and the masks. Here's the good news, t...

Newly diagnosed...pretty upset
I don't know if this posted....newly diagnosed and scared of it all. Would love some positive responses about cpap, etc. Just seriously discouraged. I just lost 30 lbs, and still dealing with this .. also I have severe anxiety and am really worked up about having a mask over my face.
