Re: NOSE STRIPS ALTERNATIVE

I've ordered one of these, but have not received it yet. I'll post about it after I've had a chance to try it out.

Re: Not sure what to do....need advice

This will probably be kind of long so please bear with me. First a quick recap of my story: First diagnosed in Jan/2006. Compliant on a brick and with a full face mask until Nov 2009 when I came down with Shingles . Full face mask rubbed the bridge of my nose raw, but I suffered through it. Off of ...

Re: Not sure what to do....need advice

After a while I started noticing that I was having balance problems and I was constantly feeling light headed and was suffering from low grade headaches. After some research I determined that these symptoms can be a result of CPAP therapy. Something to do with the pressure created on your eardrums....

Re: Not sure what to do....need advice

Cpap lowers blood pressure, so if yours is on the low side to begin with, you need to be careful about that, possibly lowering your Cpap pressure settings a notch to see if it makes a difference, and if not, then maybe your MD could suggest something or even try some meds if necessary (though that'...

Re: Not sure what to do....need advice

You say EPAP at 1 but I assume you mean EPR at 1...EPR being the ResMed exhale relief and by increasing EPR you will be decreasing the overall pressures used slightly. CPAP pressure does seem to cause some instability in the inner ear for some people. Probably related to the Eustachian tubes that c...

Re: Cpap not working?

I am also a mouth breather and had the same problem with nose sores. I now have a permanent scar on the bridge of my nose. The Hybrid mask has been a life saver for me. Click on the link under my equipment to check it out.

49er,

I actually bolded that part of your post thanks for your reply though. I misunderstood what you were trying to say. I thought you were saying that statistics were not good for people that used CPAP long term.

Re: breathing exercises for sleep apnea

Hi all, I'm new here and the reason I joined is to learn about what NATURAL methods may help with sleeping problems. I am against pills and overall interested in natural treatments.. I heard special breathing exercises can help with insomnia and even sleep apnea… the ones that teach you to breathe ...

Re: Temp & humidity question

I know your question wasn't about your mask, but have you tried the Hybrid? Nasal pillows for the nose and regular mask for the mouth. I had the same problem as you with normal full face masks and the Hybrid (so far) has been the answer for me. I only wish I had discovered it before I made a permane...

Re: Nasal Pillow Sealer Tests

I'm thinking I might want to try the Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream! I've noticed a correlation between leaks and event flags. Might be interesting to see what happens if I get a good seal on my mask. I'll let you know if I try it! I've used it the last two nights with much success. The...

Guy
I have to give an assist to quietmorning. I tried the Burt's Bees Almond Milk Hand Salve that she tried in her sealer test thread and it seems to be doing a great job. Last night's 95% leak number was even better at about 8%.

Third night on S9 Autoset

One clear airway event that lasted 12 seconds and occurred about 25 minutes before I woke up for good.
