Finally getting great sleep, Quattro Air
Hey all, it's been a while since I've posted. I hope that my little family here is doing well. I've looked at some of the reviews on the Quattro Air and although there's been some negatives I have to say that my experience has been great. My mask fit has still been bad most nights but my AHI counts ...

Re: Quality of sleep - how often do you clean?
I didn't read all of the replies but I was told by my DME that I should clean the humidifier tank, hose and mask once a week in mild detergent. It doesn't have anything to do with your sleep quality but more to do with sanitary conditions. I let those elements sit for about 15 minutes in super hot w...

Re: S9 advise please ?
You might try rinsing out your filter on the back of the machine. It's in a little holder on the left hand side. Just pull it out and rinse it in some cool water. Don't scrub it, jsut give a good rinse and then pat dry. Do this in the morning and let it air dry. It might help with the noise, it help...

Re: Happy Newbie + Hose/Mask/Water question
I'm not an expert but I would think that condnesation, rain out, would be a function of both humidity settings and tempurature settings. I've only accessed my humidity settings once and wasn't sure on how I did it. Mostly I adjust my tempurature settings if needed. I keep mine at 72 and, once again,...

Re: Looking for advice from guys with facial hair
I appreciate all the responses. Thanks guys. Seems that I just haven't found the right mask yet. The FX rides up my nose in the middle of the night and also farts into my left eye. The Mirage just has bad seal fit most nights. I keep my goatee trimmed to #3 on my trimmer so I didn't think that it wa...

I have a deviated septum and small airway. There's just no way that I don't breathe through my mouth at night. Trust me, it's attractive.NateS wrote: How did you decide you needed to go to a FFM?
Good luck,

Re: Leg pain during and After Study
Never had that problem, but, when I left my sleep study I had a flat tire. (I can't blame the sleep study.....can I?) It's a conspiracy! They put a hole in your tire to keep you there and make you do a two night study. You should have asked if they worked for Astrocorp (from the TV show Touch, whic...

Looking for advice from guys with facial hair
Greetings all, It's been a while since I posted and have missed you all. I'm still only a few months into my therapy and have had my ups and downs *cough* public meltdown *cough*. I'm looking for advice from guys with faicial hair who need to use a FFM. I have been trying different products and have...

Re: A Rather Unique Approach To Stopping Eye Leaks
I ordered the mask liner from Pad a Cheek and it didn't make my mask fit much better according to the machine. To be honest Karen doesn't say that the liner is a leak stopper, it's just for comfort and my mask has been more comfortable. I've now ordered a polymer cushion and am waiting for it to com...

Re: Just got a machine, uncomfortable & hate it
I don't have words of wisdom, Mate. I only know that every journey is personal. I haven't been on the machine much longer than you and have already had a public melt down. There's many ways of saying it but I refer to my tag line, "The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about t...

Public Apology for a public hissy fit
Thank you all who replied to my public melt down with understanding and empathy. I try to keep myself from typing when I'm frustrated but obviously I failed when I posted "I'm Done". My apologies are served well seasoned with humility. I slept that one night without my mask and woke up with a major ...

I'm done
I appreciate all the help, advice and empathy that I've gotten here. I'm done posting, listening, dealing with my apnea. The therapy is a frakking joke. I can't stop my mask leaks, I'm tired of dealing with it. When I offer something of an opinion on a topic dealing with insurance issues I just get ...

Re: Praises for Pad a Cheek
Thanks. I sent Karen an e-mail describing my circumstances and asked for her opinion. I'd like to get the opinion here as to what might be the most helpful. I'm currently on an S9 Auto BiPAP, Quattro medium sized mask. I have a neatly trimmed goatee. I was given some disposable mask liners from my D...

Re: Before Obamacare is very bad. After, don't ask.
I know that some will probably have issues with what I have to say but here it goes. This piece of legislation will be an absolute abomination when fully implemented. Even one of the Democrats that sponsored it said as much and then promptly said that he wasn't going to run for reelection. Remember ...

Re: Praises for Pad a Cheek
I'm assuming that I can google pad a cheek or look up padacheek.com. That hasn't been made clear and I need to see if I cn find something to help with mask leaks since I have a goatee. My wife and I don't want to get rid of the goatee and I keep it trimmed. Thanks for the recommendations.
