One thing I would say is you may need to try a few masks before you find one that is really comfortable. So you might want to budget/plan for going through a few if you're buying sight unseen.

Apart from your DOT business, have you considered what else is going on, e.g. a little weight gain, possibly leaking mask (or mouth), etc? I'm getting ready for my first DOT physical since starting CPAP (I started mid-March 2013). I installed sleepyhead for Mac so I could print off my numbers. For me, turning off the ramp and doing a few long slow deep breaths to start helped.
