Re: Farts!
Thank you all for your suggestions and commiseration. Gonna look into the ramp thing and if that doesn't work I'll talk with my doc about the pressure. No smell. Just constant. So I think I am just eating air under pressure (cue Freddy Mercury and Queen). Too bad I didn't have a CPAP when I was twel...

Re: Farts!
It's only been the case since I went on CPAP. Maybe I am swallowing air. Dunno. I'm going to give this one more week and then call the pulmonologist and make that embarrassing admission. Yikes.
No beer in my fridge. Beans? Well... no more than usual.

Farts!
I'm glad I sleep alone. I can feel the CPAP air inflating me. For a while each night I think the every-five-minutes farting is funny but after a while they're obnoxious and I am tired of them. Should I prop myself higher on pillows? See if my doc can lower the pressure? Something else? Or is this ju...

Re: Wisp headgear problem
I brought the damaged headgear to the DME today. She was surprised and dismayed, as after examining it, she was concerned that all of the ones she has sold recently will be coming back as returns. She said she will be calling her sales rep to tell him about the problem, and to request a plastic (rat...

Re: New Kind of Sleep Disruption Event
I had to shut ramp off too. It was set at four whereas in order to relax and feel as though I'm getting enough air to go to sleep I needed at least a six. I felt as though I was sucking my air out of the machine rather than letting it come to me. Funny cat. They always like to be part of the action....

When I get to a certain age or level of illness, not only will I file a DNR with my doctor and with my Health Care Proxy, I will also get the letters tattooed across my chest.

Nasal mask. Any suggestions?
My Wisp nasal mask headgear broke last night. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good replacement?
I will be getting an Opus nasal pillow mask in the mail in a few days. Just looking for a nasal one so I can switch them off when one or the other gets annoying.
Thanks, folks!!

Wisp headgear problem
Last night the snap below my right ear of my Wisp headgear came undone and would not stay attached. My mask therefore kept slipping. I think this is the fault of the snap being expected to connect to fabric rather than to another piece of plastic. Anyway, since I didn't have a spare set of headgear ...

Re: My Wisp
I too have the Wisp mask and wear the medium size cushion. I think it's comfortable and easy to clean and I actually look forward to bedtime so I can put it on while I read, before I go to sleep. The hose release in front is a great idea, and even if you need to take the mask off entirely that's a s...

Re: Anyone use wisp masks?
I was able to sleep through the night with my Wisp after only three days, and it's been smooth sailing every since. The mask has three nose cushion sizes. My resp. therapist tightened the straps for me so it sits on my face with very little pressure, just enough to make a seal but without leaving ma...
