Re: Sometimes It Takes a Doctor
OK folks. I assume at this point everyone has thrown all their rocks. I thought I could offer something helpful. Sounds like not. Fair enough - I tried. The title "Sometimes it Takes a Doctor" refers to my thought that "sometimes" the advice of fellow patients, however sound and helpful, may not be ...

Sometimes It Takes a Doctor
Hello, I am not a doctor; I don't even play one on TV. I have sleep apnea like all of you, and mine is coupled with an inability to get the sleep I need each night. This causes me to do something while driving that is somewhere between falling asleep and passing out. This usually happens when I am d...

CA Component of AHI
Hello, Over the past month, the CA component of my AHI has increased to where it now averages over 2.0. My overall AHI is up to 4.9 with the largest component the CA. I would welcome others input on the CA number, as I think it may be related to the fact that I wake up nearly every night about 2:00A...

Re: Apneas and Dreams
I completely agree with Hyperlexis and Tom W. Once the apnea was under control, my memory of the dreams stopped. I had a recurrence one night when I was on the machine, and noted that my AHI the next morning was 18, up from the average 6 - 7. Seems most tied to my central apnea. I am working with my...

Re: Encore Viewer ver 2.1 Available for System One 60 Series
Wave form graphs are included. Unfortunately the nightly Summary Table referred to in the Help sectionis not; an oversight that Respironics doesn't sound willing to correct. They stated they are concentrating on the Sleep Mapper product. Intend to take this up with someone further up the food chain ...

Re: Encore Viewer ver 2.1 Available for System One 60 Series
Encore Viewer software ver 2.1 is now available through CPAP.com (product #1047351) I was misinformed regarding version 2.20. The current version, per Respironics software support is 2.1.3.0. This version is both 32 and 64 bit compatible. The software will work with all Respironics machines, includi...

Encore Viewer ver 2.1 Available for System One 60 Series
In a thoroughly confusing conversation with Respironics software support, I learned that the Encore Viewer, version 2.20, compatible with the System One 60 series was just released last week. I spoke with a sales rep at CPAP.com who was not aware that there is software available for the 60 series. R...

Re: Supply Vendors
Thanks for the info, and the compliment. I'm 66; a lifetime of assholic and immature behavior may have kept me looking younger.

Re: Explain Mask Resistance Setting
Just found this link on the Respironics site. I would figure that an FX nasal pillow is very close to a Respironics GoLife. I have a medium mask, so it seems my setting should be "3". http://www.healthcare.philips.com/asset.aspx?alt=&p=http://www.healthcare.philips.com/pwc_hc/main/homehealth/sleep/m...

Explain Mask Resistance Setting
Just starting my therapy with a Respironics auto CPAP with heated tube humidifier and ResMed FX nasal pillow. Still getting used to the settings. I get into the provider menu where I see a parameter "Mask Resistance" Presently it is set to 2. The tech at Respironics told me they set this to "4" for ...
