Re: How is auto CPAP supposed to work?

Apologies, palerider - flow limitations is what I looked up and read about, not flow resistance - I typed the wrong thing. It's so irritating when people are stupid, isn't it?

Re: How is auto CPAP supposed to work?

Thanks, Pugsy. I'll have to get OSCAR one of these days and see what I can figure out.

Re: How is auto CPAP supposed to work?

Oh, lordy - now I'm really confused. Where are you getting these max pressure numbers? Off the machine or using software to see the details? It is very possible that the machines when in auto mode would increase the pressure because of flow limitations it was seeing. The max pressure numbers I'm see...

Re: sleeping after discontinuing CPAP?

In my nine years of using CPAP I've discontinued using it for a night or two - not by choice. I can tell you I just slept crappy - not worse than I used to, just crappy like I used to. One time the machine wouldn't start and I couldn't figure out why (my stupid, it was fine). Another time I went to ...

How is auto CPAP supposed to work?

I thought the point of auto CPAP was to have a range of pressure, and the machine would increase to just enough to keep the airway open. Am I wrong? Here's the deal. I've been using CPAP since 2013, my range was set to 7-15, my sleep study AHI was 47 but with the machine it's usually been under 1. A...

Re: Free Resmed Supplies - Don’t need

The Reggie White Sleep Foundation is absolutely still operating. Just Google it! Had an email conversation with them last week.

Re: Any use for old machine?

Since this thread is still going - here's an update and correction. I ended up sending my machine to someone on this forum. BUT - the Reggie White Sleep Foundation is still going and would have gladly taken my 13 year old, 25,676 hours of use machine.

Re: Any use for old machine?

Thanks, folks - good to know that I don't just need to junk it. I'll start looking into the suggestions for where to donate it.

Any use for old machine?

I'm sure this has been answered before, but none of the search terms I tried turned up anything useful. I just replaced my still working ResMed S9 AutoSet with the AirSense 11. What do you all do with old machines - just throw them away? I don't need a back-up machine because I have a travel CPAP. W...

Re: Thought my ResMed Air Mini was defective, but . . .

Initially it was at Autoset. The first time I lowered the top pressure (from 20 to 13) I chose Autoset for Her mode to see it that would help the problem; it did not

Re: Thought my ResMed Air Mini was defective, but . . .

Well, I read that in a thread from 2017 when the Air Mini was new, and it was in relation to the Air Mini as well as the AirSense 10. I guess I don't know whether it's accurate, but it would go along with the problems I've been having. I've been using my S9 for six years and never have a problem wit...

Thought my ResMed Air Mini was defective, but . . .

I was just about to post a question about whether my ResMed Air Mini was defective, but then I read a bunch of posts and think I found the issue. Apparently there's something in the algorithm that triggers it to stay with the highest pressure and not adjust if there are two apneas within a certain t...

Re: AVEOtsd anti-snoring device

Actually, during the time I used it, my husband said it cut down the snoring significantly. This was before I knew I had sleep apnea, and I have no idea whether it had any effect on that. Just offering it up in case anyone had an interest in trying it.

AVEOtsd anti-snoring device

I'm doing some de-cluttering and came upon this gizmo. I tried pretty much every anti-snoring device on the market before I discovered (duh) that I had sleep apnea and am now happily hooked up to a machine. This thing actually does kind of work. Before I toss it out, if anyone would like to try it, ...
