Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE
Hey there. I don't need an exchange. I have passed these on to Pugsy in the past but I had enough sense to poke around a bit before just sending them straight to her. . . Apparently y'all have been busy here on the CPAPtalk. So, I'm offering these to anyone who would like. . . Size L/XL Wisp nasal m...

Re: Really OT Cats
I've used Fresh Step for years, but I don't like their multi-cat formula, can't exactly remember why right this moment. I had a cat that was super picky about changing litters and would start going other places but sadly, he's gone now For those of you struggling with excessive dust, the trick that ...

Re: Anyone else like me actually reasonably happy with their DME
I'm reasonably happy with my DME. Reasonably, not perfectly. I had some real issues when they moved recently and I couldn't get ahold of them on the phone. It's been worked out. Most of the time, they don't even charge me for nasal pillow replacements. I might have more problems but I live literally...

Re: Subcutaneous Emphysema?
I will admit a serious knowledge deficit when it comes to barotrauma secondary to diving; but subcutaneous emphysema from CPAP? SubQ emphysema is usually an ominous sign after serious trauma/surgery as air is pushed into tissues. The assessment finding is tissues that should be soft being slightly f...

Re: Acne
I experienced a problem with an acne-like rash across my cheeks along the path of the Swift FX straps. I tried both using and not using the fabric covers, washing them frequently, going without the fabric covers, washing the straps frequently. I was also employing an aggressive facial cleaning more ...

Re: OT: Low-Salt Diet Ineffective
I've always had an issue with this low-salt thing. Too much research is not supporting low-salt as a diet that improves health. What is sad, it that when there is a study showing an effect from low-sodium diet, it will show something like 1-3.5% decrease in blood pressure. Seriously? My blood pressu...

Re: My Official Titration Study
Clinical correlation recommended is just a cover their tushie way of saying "okay, so how does the patient look/feel?" A classic example would be a patient who has an EKG showing the arrhythmia "Sinus bradycardia" which can be very serious or completely innocuous and normal for some. It just means a...

Re: Misdiagnosis: ADHD may sometimes be a Sleep Disorder
In that case, my guess would be that he didn't have true "periodic limb movements", but rather muscle contractions associated with respiratory events. Great news! Neither RLS or PLMD were ever formally diagnosed by any professional. What I find interesting is that the jumpy legs before he goes to s...

Re: CPAP newbie- air flow bothering spouse
I don't really have a solution, I try not to fall asleep with the vent towards my husband (who is cold-natured) but he says it happens when I am asleep. He usually tries to adjust out of the flow of the vent but sometimes gives up and goes to the couch. He says that once he was awakened by a serious...

Re: Misdiagnosis: ADHD may sometimes be a Sleep Disorder
When I was resisting the OSA diagnosis and fussing with my sleep doctor he was trying to get me to understand how SDB can have many manifestations including a previous pedi patient of his that was thought to have depression and ADHD but was remarkably "cured" after starting CPAP for SBD. There is a ...

Re: OT - My Baby Girl, Julie
Julie is a doll. I have cats but I enjoy a sweet puppy as much as anyone. Sabu seems like a great guy too, perhaps the puppy is wearing him out, though I've always been told those herding types like to be kept busy.

I've dreaded the first time I come down with a bad allergy attack or cold/flu. I've only had the flu once that I know of but I get colds like everyone else. I have planned to get a full-face mask at some point in the future when my insurance allows (or I find a good sale). I think I would do better ...

Re: AARGH! I have to do ANOTHER study?
I sympathize with the frustration but I believe your medical team is really trying to get you the best treatment. I remember pretty much hollering at my sleep doc about his proposed therapy (I wanted a better sleeping pill, not something to strap on my face that would make it that much harder to fal...

Re: OSA and can't use cpap, now no libido or desire for life
I'm sure afrin would open it but the docs have all told him to stay away from it because it's addictive...I say so what, if it opens his nose and he has to use it the rest of his life, so be it as long as it works. I sympathize. There are some medications that while "addictive" can be taken for the...
