Re: Why do I Always wake up?
I used to have the same trouble but my time for waking up was 2:00 - 3:00, I go to bed at 10:00, I'm a lot older too . Noise was not an issue because I am near deaf when I take my hearing aids out, my wife says someone could tear the place down around me and I would still be sleeping Unlike you I ha...

Re: This Website is short of memory capacity
I don't want to start a big argument, but I'm not a believer in registry cleaning. This is actually pretty dangerous, very subtle problems can result that you might not see for some time. Yes, there have been programs around that do this for a long time now, but I would not use them. The best recom...

Re: This Website is short of memory capacity
A lot of times it is not a memory problem but a Windows problem and a simple fix. I am running 1 gig of memory the past 7 years on my laptop, never upgraded, still running strong. Just got a new laptop at work and that one is much slower then what I am using at home. Two of these steps require a lit...

Re: CPAP Improves Hearing
Chilimon writes, re doc's analysis... He did say what is probably happening, the air from the CPAP is forcing out any fluid or anything else behind my ear making my ear drum more sensitive to sound. It only happens to my left ear. Possible, of course. Also possible is that the xPAP therapy is reduc...

Re: CPAP Improves Hearing
I have a 50% hearing loss in both ears from birth. Have not noticed any improvements in my hearing, even momentarily. It sure would be nice, though!! The first night I heard it, I thought I was dreaming, one of those moments, this cannot be happening. I never knew what normal hearing was but if tha...

Re: CPAP Improves Hearing
I'm HOH and I'm not on CPAP but if I end up on it I'll report any findings. It would be interesting to know if this happened to more than one person. Thanks, yes it would be interesting to say the least. I'm sure my ENT is going to talk to some of his colleagues as well to see if they ever came acr...

Re: CPAP Improves Hearing
Who did your original hearing test? A proper audiology exam would have uncovered that long ago! Never let the guy at Sears do your test! No a proper test would not have uncovered that long ago, it is not just a hearing problem, there are multiple issues there that even surgery did not fix on my lef...

CPAP Improves Hearing
But only momentarily. I'll start out by saying I am nearly deaf without my hearing aids in, I take them out and put them in a hearing aid dehumidifier when I go to bed. I put my nasal pillow on, turn my machine on, lay back and relax, 10 minutes later, I'm asleep. Sometime during the night I wake up...

Re: Weird in bed?
When I saw the topic, I thought we were talking about our wives - LOL I always have strange configurations during the night before and after starting CPAP, my wife said my legs are up so my feet are flat on the mattress and my knees are in the air. She said sometimes I am laying diagonally, always t...

Re: Do any of you have problems with scents, odors?
In my "welcome" letter to new clients I ask them not to wear strong scents. Either they never listen or their clothes are so impregnated with the perfume that it doesn't help if they don't squirt extra on that day. Youth Dew is a particular pet peeve of mine. I work with seniors and that scent seem...

Re: non-PAP-related clicking disturbing my sleep
Do you have a smoke detector near by or anything that uses a battery back up, alarm clock ? Sometimes on items like this, when the battery is going dead, it will making a clicking sound. I had a smoke detector do that to me once, drove me nuts till I figured out what it was.

Re: Do any of you have problems with scents, odors?
I do not have any smell issues due to loss of smell 3 years ago. I do have trouble with my nose being slightly congested in the morning when I wake up though. Seems that only started after I started CPAP. Other than that, my sinuses have been more clear than ever. I see my ENT every 6 months for a c...
