Re: Looking for CPAP for relative
Thank you all for your responses. Unfortunately my cousin doesn't have his prescription and doesn't have the money for a new sleep study. I've looked on Craig's List and everything I've found in my area is pricey. I'm waiting for a response from Grayghost to see if he has anything that will be suita...

Looking for CPAP for relative
I'm trying to help my cousin find a CPAP to replace his machine which he says is about 18 years old and not really functioning much if at all. He doesn't have insurance and is in a bad way financially. I haven't been on here in a while since my ancient computer quit working, but I remember sometimes...

Re: nasal pillows leakage problem
I'm not familiar with this mask, but you definitely do not want the straps really tight. You actually want it a little loose so the pillows can inflate. I pull them away from my nose some so they inflate and then release. Adjust a little if there's any air leaking.

Re: First night with a CPAP... please tell me it gets better!
One thing that may help you get used to keeping your mouth closed while using the nasal pillows is to train yourself to keep the tip of your tongue right at the point where your teeth meet the gums at the roof of your mouth. Does that make sense to you? You can practice it a few times during the day...

Re: Bed Pillows
I'm using the buckwheat pillow and I love it. You can fill it to fit your needs. I have a short neck, so a thick pillow doesn't work so well for me either. I've had the issue before with pain and found it was actually the lower strap on the headgear was too tight.

Re: Loud machine; angry pregnant wife; please help!
I've been using the Resmed S9 VPAP for almost 2 years and my upper pressure is 20, I don't hear any noise from it at all. Especially after I take out my hearing aid!!

Re: 2 day user, mask or machine issue?
I've never used a full face mask, but used a nasal mask for a short time. I think I know what you mean by it feeling like it's "sucking in" and I would say you might have the straps too tight so the cushions are not able to inflate.

Re: newbie: different mask / SH report
I've had the problem with the headgear slipping on my hair with my Swift FX. I saw a post or a video sometime back where someone said to pull the hair through to keep it from sliding. After I put my mask on, I just reach back and run my fingernail along the top of the strap in the back and pull my h...

Re: Brand Spanking New and having issues
If your nasal pillows are making your nose sore, you may have it adjusted too tight. It actually needs to be a little loose to allow the pillows to fill with air, if that makes sense. After my machine comes on I actually pull the pillows away from my nose a little to allow them to fill up, release, ...

Re: Quatro Air fitting question
A larger size mask might work, but if it doesn't here's what I did to keep my FFM mask from riding up... it's a bike cuff strap that happens to fit me, however one can use a old set of headgear cut to make the under-chin fit. It simply loops around the lower straps. One bonus is that it helps keep ...

Re: Quatro Air fitting question
I had the same exact problem. Be aware that the Quattro Air does run small, so if you think a medium might be too small it probably is! I normally take a large in other FFMs and really need an XL in the Air, but of course it isn't made. Other suggestions: The mask is designed to be worn a bit lower...

Re: Resumed s9 won't work says insert SD card, never had one?
I've never had this issue, although mine has a SD card in it, but you might try unplugging it for a few minutes & plug it back in to let it reboot.
