Re: AHI 131 / no REM. Help me understand my S/S & CPAP results
One thing I will ask because I had it happen to me. You don't happen to have a pet that sleeps with you that snores do you? I had some really ugly snore reports like yours that would pop up some nights and have no snores other nights. Couldn't figure out what was going on until one night I realized...

Re: CPAP saved my life
That must have been very hard to sleep upright all that time. On rare nights, I would have to sleep sitting up due to asthma or really bad congestion. Eventually I would slide down and wake up. In my case, sleeping upright would not help my sleep apnea. I fall asleep sitting up sometimes while watc...

Re: CPAP saved my life
It wasn't until I fell asleep behind the wheel and drove off the road at 70 mph that I knew something was seriously wrong that needed medical attention. Fortunately the rumble strips woke me up in time to make a correction before hitting anything. If it wasn't for the rumble strips, I would have be...

Re: Body soreness
For your shoulder, get a good neck supporting pillow. Often the pain is from muscles put under strain because they are pulled for a long time in a position and they are not used to it. If you are on your back, put a pillow under your knees and support your neck. I've been thinking of this as well. ...

Body soreness
One of the effects I've seen from starting my therapy almost a month ago is that I don't toss and turn very often. In fact, I've gone from not sleeping on my back to sleeping in that position for a good chunk of the night. Due to this lack of movement, I've been getting some soreness around areas th...

Re: CPAP saved my life
Great news! I'm sure your post will help many who need encouragement. I'm curious, do you know what your pressure is? With an AHI that high some would imagine that you'd need a very high pressure but not necessarily so it would be good to know that. Good luck and keep us posted.! Thank you so much....

Re: CPAP saved my life
I agree the your life has changed wonderfully for the better. I would add to keep up with the following: 1. any weight loss or gain of 20 lbs. wil change your pressure need; 2. keep up with any other diagnosis like high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma...OSA can ba a cause of these (except asthm...

Re: CPAP saved my life
I used to work Midnight shift and would sometimes come close to going to sleep driving home, besides being sleepy at social events made me real popular. I imagine CPAP saved my life too. For some reason I didn't really have trouble staying awake while driving but then again, based on my results, th...

Re: CPAP saved my life
First Welcome. Second WOW!! That's some bad apnea! I am so glad that it is working out so well for you. Maybe your body was so bad off from no real sleep and no oxygen that it just forced everything in you to LOVE CPAP and give you no problems! My jaw dropped to the floor when I got my results. I f...

Re: CPAP saved my life
IM not gonna lie, im jealous. You go from 133 to 0. No work interruptions no apparent other health problems related to longterm undiagnosed apnea. Glad to hear it, most of us suffer multiple problems in compliance, adaptation, and onset medical issues of one kind or another. I do consider myself ve...

CPAP saved my life
I've been lurking around for the past couple of weeks just soaking up information. But I figured that I'd get a little more involved. For at least the last 10 years I've been told that I can be easily confused for a twin-prop airplane at full throttle all night long. I knew that I snored, but I alwa...
