Re: Successful Newbie.

Congrats, Nooblikahn! I'm a fellow newbie who has had similar luck starting cpap therapy - after a longer wait than I was hoping for. That part was the toughest. I was also like you lucky enough to land the right mask right away, and have found the support/encouragement found here on this forum to b...

Re: Brand new CPAP user...please help you experienced users? :-)

Hi, Lainy! I"m a Colorado girl too - and a fellow newbie as well. It seems we have a lot in common - I also sleep on my side and use a full-face mask for much the same reason. I was lucky enough to run across a deal on Woot for a cpap pillow designed for side-sleepers right at the same time I got my...

Re: Groupon has pulse oximeter

Yeah, Panda. Well even if it doesn't record, it will be helpful to do quick checks during workouts, etc. Got myself a better bp cuff to go with the oximeter for that very reason. Did a nuke stress test just last week feeling all smug about being able to get my heart rate up where they need it on the...

I think I've made a pretty good start all in all.

I'm a happy neophyte hosehead. Very grateful for all the good advice and stories from everyone on this forum. Being able to read about other peoples' experiences has been a huge help. Thanks and virtual hugs to all of you! I'm one of the fortunate ones who can do 100% compliance right off the bat. I...

Re: Groupon has pulse oximeter

Rats! I just bought one of these (same brand, inclusions) from Amazon for $34.95. Should have checked in with the group first I guess. I'm gathering from some of the responses here that it's not such a good unit?

Re: How Many Of Us Actually LIKE PAP ?

I'm still a beginner at this (it'll be a full two weeks after tonight), but despite the ups and downs, I like my CPAP. A lot. Like DaveCarolina (?-If I got your name wrong, Dave, please pardon me - I still have the short-term memory of a butterfly) I find the inflow of air reassuring, and putting my...

Re: newbi--3 days

Hi, Newbi! I'm a newbie too. I got my machine two weeks ago this coming Wednesday, and I'm going through the same thing. It came as a real surprise, given I left both my sleep studies in such a perky state I thought I was going to breeze through getting used to my cpap. Well...not so much. But in go...

Re: Finally! I have my machine!

Thanks, everyone. I've gone into my profile and filled out the equipment now. My machine has a memory card - I wasn't shown how to access the data by my equipment provider - my tech said it was for monitoring compliance and providing information for my doctor. Probably should sit down and spend some...

Finally! I have my machine!

All in all, I'm a happy neophyte user. Well, except, it's a good thing people wrote advising patience. My split night study was January 11th and I didn't get my titration study until 3/8. I went through being whiny and bitchy then flat-out depressed while waiting, but thank goodness, that part is be...

Aspiring Hosehead saying hello!

Hi, everyone. I'm an aspiring hose-head. Just had my first sleep study a couple of weeks ago and I'm chomping at the bit to get my machine. Mine was a split study - halfway through the night they hooked me up to a CPAP, and even with the mask not fitting quite right, I felt so much perkier when my t...
