Leak question

What exactly does the Sleepyhead leak graph measure? Is it mask leaks (I use nasal pillows) or leaks if my mouth opens? I'm a nose breather but I think my mouth gets forced open from the pressure some nights. The first week or so there was not a lot of leaking, but there has been more this past week...

Is this normal?

I've been sleeping with the cpap for about a week. The first 5 nights went pretty well, but last night was horrible! I woke up several times and had trouble falling asleep again. It was more like the before cpap sleep. Is this normal to have "bumps in the road" or is something going wrong? Thanks!

Re: First night. How did I do?

DoriC - my machine says that my pressure was 8. It's an auto so I'm not sure if that's the highest, average or what.

Re: First night. How did I do?

Wow, I'm glad I'm off to a good start. I think I got really lucky with the nasal pillows...they are very comfortable. And the RT said I had good nostrils!?!

First night. How did I do?

Last night went well, I think. I slept 8 hrs. and only woke up once. This morning I woke up before my alarm with no headache! My machine says AHI 1.4 and mask leaks 4L/min. I have no idea if this is good. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Getting CPAP tomorrow, please help.

Thanks for all of the info! I ended up with a ResMed S9 AutoSet and the Swift FX for her nasal pillows. I'm crossing my fingers that all goes well tonight!

Getting CPAP tomorrow, please help.

Hi everyone, I'm a 45 year old mom of three who was recently diagnosed with moderate OSA. I'm getting my CPAP machine tomorrow. What features are important to have in my CPAP? Any other advice? I'm nervous about having to deal with all of this, but am hopeful that I might actually get some good slee...
