I have hoarded old CPAP stuff!

Haven’t visited the board in awhile, but OSA bad as ever! Ever since I got my first CPAP in 2003. - I have kept all my OLD machines and hoses and tanks and old everything except masks and stuff I’ve worn. Somehow thinking paranoidly that I may have a disruption in supplies or needed a back up machin...

Anyone tried this portable lithium setup?

Hello. Haven't posted in awhile, but I was wondering if anyone has tried one of these Jackery portable batteries. It is the Honda by Jackery JLS 290 portable power station. It claims to have pure sine-wave power if I plug into the AC outlet. I have used the Freedom Battery lithium battery with my ol...

Re: HMO Blue/DME benefit reached

The postings have been very helpful and clear some things up. Looking into the claims details on the Blue Cross site - if I add only the columns that say "amount allowed", it seems closer than anything else to the $1500 DME limit. ( Not exact, but within a few hundred.) The scary thing is the "my ba...

Re: HMO Blue/DME benefit reached

Thanks for the links and info! I was aware of the "EOB", but of course panicked over my potential cost seeing that the latest claim was denied, and I have no idea what is coming. I will see what they send me next, but I sure hope I don't pay anything close to what these claims have on them. The Blue...

HMO Blue/DME benefit reached

Hi. I apologize ahead if this topic has been addressed a lot already, but I have searched with keywords, table of contents, Googled like crazy, but I cannot seem to find enough answers. I have HMO Blue New England, with a DME benefit of $1500 per calendar year. In January 2013, I asked my sleep doct...

Re: BiPap humidifier problem?

That is a great machine. I've been using too much water evidently, and it's doing a good job on it's own. Anything higher than a setting of 2 gives me rainout.
Thanks again for all the info - easier than thumbing through manuals and getting confused.

BiPap humidifier problem?

I am using my new Respironics PR System One REMstar 60 BiPap Pro w/Bi=flex and the humidifier that connects to it. I follow the instructions which tell me to hold down the control knob for five seconds until it beeps (my unit must be on silent setting) and the wavy symbol illuminates in blue. The hu...

It's been awhile since I logged in here - so the brain fog shows up once in awhile. I like the Avatar I picked for Vampira too!

Re: Disastrous sleep study last night!

viking67 - I am sure glad to have been reading all these posts on the forums. I will certainly not let 5 years go by again if that is how they work it. I was just reading old posting on another site from a 68 year old who also never sleeps without CPAP and had a heart attack in the past. When he was...

Re: Disastrous sleep study last night!

It sure felt like insurance company protocol. The tech told me it was because of the insurance every time I protested not being able to use my mask. I just hope the next night I spend there is enough for the insurance co. and I don't have to suffer as much. My throat is still sore after 2 days. When...

Re: Disastrous sleep study last night!

That's what I think....if I could start off with the mask, I could fall asleep. I have vivid dreams and nightmares almost every night - I must have more than light sleep normally. Without that CPAP, I can't breathe well at all lying down. I don't think I could take more than a few breaths while goin...

Re: Disastrous sleep study last night!

Thanks SleepyToo2... I have a feeling I will be talking to my sleep doctor about this. I have sent in the data cards when requested by my sleep doctor by postage-paid mail, but never saw the data, or got to keep the cards. For the most part, my sleep has been OK. When I mentioned to her on my recent...

Disastrous sleep study last night!

Hello! I've been using CPAP faithfully since 2003. I have never felt really rested and refreshed, but the CPAP has helped a lot. My pressure is 12cm on a ResMed Elite S8 with the Ultra Mirage II nasal mask. It was coming up on 5 years - my insurance will allow a new machine every 5 years. My blood p...
