Re: CPAP and air travel

That carry on shit isn't enforced anyway, which pisses me off quite a bit. People regularly bring in overhead bin bags that are beyond the size specified, taking up two to three times their fair share of bin space. Every time I see it happen I just want to smack them AND the airline personnel that ...

Re: CPAP and air travel

Never check the xpap. You never know if it will arrive at your destination with you. Besides, medical equipment does NOT count toward the number of carry-on bags you are allowed.

Re: How Often Do You Change Pressure?

For help please post some dailies from encore pro, as was asked. We will be better able to help. A range on apap of 10 to 12 cm makes sence to me without seeing your data. Jim I dont change my pressure unless my ahi goes high, then I use encore pro to see what the problem is and possiable solutions...

Re: How Often Do You Change Pressure?

Can you post some data. Is it possible that leaks are causing this? Are you taking any sleep aids or other new meds? I'm not taking any sleep aids and definitely do not have any mask leaks. I occasionally eat after getting home from work at 1:00 a.m., and generally go to bed shortly afterwards. I d...

Re: How Often Do You Change Pressure?

Since you have an auto, If I was in your situation I would use auto with a small range if 10-12. This small range should not disturb your sleep. You have nothing to lose by trying. Thanks for the suggestion, LSAT, but I fail to understand how this will benefit me. I have no problem sleeping at a co...

How Often Do You Change Pressure?

After my sleep study just over 18 months ago, my sleep doctor put me on a pressure of 9, which reduced my AHI to about 3.5 (Not bad!). Monitoring my stats via Encore Pro over the following months, I noticed my AHI slowly increasing. When it exceeded 5.0, I increased the pressure to 10. Again, my AHI...

Re: CPAP and Working ???

I work four consecutive 10-hour days each week in addition to a 3-hour round-trip commute each of those days. It would be impossible for me to do that without cpap. There's no question that having good quality sleep does have a positive effect on your energy. Keep up the good work!

Re: Pugsy Award

I have been away for the past 10 days and, after seeing all these accolades, felt that I had to chime in. You all give me a chance to do something that I enjoy. Something useful that has meaning and enhances my life in ways you all have no idea what it means to me. And you, Pugsy, have enhanced our ...

Re: You Don't Have To Be An Engineer!

IMO, you talked too much about things that you did not need to mention. Just ask for a copy of your Rx. As a matter of fact your Doc is the one to provide it to you. On this I have to disagree. If I can't talk about myself and what I do to treat myself to my doctor or other staff involved with my c...

It sounds like you have a pretty good, fool-proof, and reliable system that works just fine for you now. Why change it?

Re: You Don't Have To Be An Engineer!

The two sleep doctors i went to both seemed to view patients changing anything about their cpap machines akin to asking for kiddie porn. It has to be an ego thing. After all, they went to medical school to learn how to do all this, and now you have learned on your own what it has taken them eight y...

You Don't Have To Be An Engineer!

I went to my sleep doctor's office this past Monday to pick up a copy of my prescription. My DME has been non-responsive lately to requests from me and my doctor, so I decided to keep one on-hand for when I order supplies on the internet (I have a high insurance deductible this year, and it would ce...
