Re: Feel like I got beat in the chest with a bat...

Thanks everyone! I actually took a night off from cpap and woke up this morning with no pain or tenderness. I can move around again. So either its a big coincidence, or the soreness has to with my therapy. I turned up the epr to 3 as Pugsy suggested and will try it tonight. If the soreness comes bac...

Are you using EPR..if so at what setting?

2 months is a little long for this symptom to persist.

My auto is set from 5-15. And epr is set to "patient" (whatever that means) but it looks like its always at 2.

Feel like I got beat in the chest with a bat...

So I've been on therapy for 2 months and still having a lot of soreness in my chest muscles. The last two days have felt like I got beat with a bat. I was under the impression that it wasn't supposed to last more than a couple weeks and was supposed to get better, not worse. I can barely move certai...

Re: running out of water in humidifier

I don't know if this is true or not, and actually if anyone knows I would like to know for myself and for sleepyinmississippi, but my techie told me that if there was a consistent leak or if I was breathing out of my mouth that I would use more water. I see you are using a nasal mask, so I'm curious...

Re: Pilaro Nasal Pillow - Nose Irritation

I use the Pilairo nasal pillows as well. I had the same issue when I first started it and someone told me to use Lansinoh (lanolin ointment) on/in my nose every night before putting on the mask. You don't need a lot..just a dot will do the trick. You can find it in the baby care aisle with the nursi...

Re: Getting really pissed at myself now!

Well, I was able to keep my mask on for 7.8 hours last night. Wahoo! I did keep repeating to myself while falling asleep that I was going to keep this mask on all night. I remember waking up at one point and did have the urge to pull it off but I just closed my eyes and obviously went back to sleep....

Re: Getting really pissed at myself now!

Many people give their cpap machine a nickname, --to make it part of the family? http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=57380&start=0 Wow! This made me laugh so hard! I am definitely inspired to name my machine/mask now though! Maybe that WILL help me become one with it. Many of the replies to...

Re: Getting really pissed at myself now!

Yes, that's the thing. Last night I did not remember taking my mask off and I was actually pretty shocked to find that my S9 said I only used the machine for 2.8 hours. So, I obviously turned the machine off too. It's sort of weird. I know that I have taken my mask off plenty of times before because...

Re: S9 memory card

I'm using a 4 GB SDHC in my S9 and it works fine. I bought my machine from secondwindcpap.com and they said not to use higher memory cards as it can confuse the machine. I know Walmart did sell 2G cards but they only came in a 2-pack.

Getting really pissed at myself now!

I do not understand. I continue to take my mask off during the night..sometimes I do not even know I am doing it. Last night, I wore it for the first two hours (because the machine told me so), woke up at 5:30 and there it is hanging on the headboard. Do not remember taking it off or why I took it o...

Hose hanger or headboard?

What is the actual difference?? Right now my hose is slung over my headboard but I'm having problems with it sliding down the back of the headboard..it doesn't necessarily stay where I want it too and it can pull my very lightweight mask up. If I have it hanging off the side of the bed..it pulls the...

Re: Where are the good sleep doctors?

I have a very nice sleep doctor, Dr. William Sherrill at Presbyterian Sleep Medicine in Huntersville, NC. I especially appreciate all the help they have given me when I did not have money or insurance to buy my cpap equipment. They gave me a loaner machine until I could afford my own and they also g...

Re: Need sleeping pill suggestion to stop waking up

I have taken ZzzQuil twice to sleep. It's from the makers of NyQuil but without the medicine (just the "help you sleep better" part). It is also Diphenhydramine and does leave you with a groggy after effect. Works beautifully though .

Re: Still having obstructive apneas..normal?

However, I still woke up quite a few times last night. Briefly, just long enough to know I woke up and then right back out I went. Hi, That is actually pretty common. Most people don't remember doing this. Some folks will happen to remember looking a the clock, and then they might remember that the...

Re: Still having obstructive apneas..normal?

I agree. I don't think I was mouth breathing last night. There was no physical evidence of it anyway (dry mouth, sore throat, etc.) I do have a Mirage Quattro full face mask that I could wear but I'd really rather not. Going from the Pilairo to the Quattro will be challenging and oddly enough I find...
