If you are using a Resmed machine there is a setting for EPR which will relieve pressure on exhale. Check your settings and make sure it is on and set for 2 or 3.
Many thanks for this advice. I shall try it tonight.

All the best...

Resmed n30i-Breathing out

Hello all, I recently switched from a ResMed P10 to an AirFit N30i. It’s only been three days, but I’ve already noticed how much more snug and secure it feels compared to the P10. However, during the ramp stage on my CPAP (15 minutes for me), it seems like my exhaled breath isn’t going anywhere. As ...

Laser treatment

Hi all: Has anybody heard of the Nightlase laser treatment option? Apparently, it's a non-invasive laser treatment for both snoring and OSA. It consists of 3x20 minute light sessions with a laser to remove some amount of one's soft palate. No anesthetic is involved, and it has a high success rate. I...

Re: Mouth exercises

But I was wondering if a combination of said device plus efforts to develop the most muscular and flexible oral cavity would improve my results. You can do this easily and cheaply by wearing a foam cervical collar. A collar holds the neck/spine in the best position for airway patency. I shall check...

If not, well, my wife might enjoy my new found gift of oral potential. I have never read anything about proof that any sort of oral exercises doing anythi...

Re: Mouth exercises

Hey Chunky: Are you a mind reader? I wouldn’t advise changing your career to become a professional psychic. I have no intention of giving up my most treasured possession, my resmed life saver. But I was wondering if a combination of said device plus efforts to develop the most muscular and flexible ...

Mouth exercises

Hello everyone: From time to time I come across a video with various exercises to strengthen different parts of the tongue and oral cavity to help in the battle against sleep apnea. The better ones don't claim that all will be well after doing a few of these exercises and you can then throw away you...

Re: Philips corporate ploy

Couldn’t agree more with Pugsy, as always. Since I’ve switched from Respironics to Resmed my sleep has improved noticeably. And I could sim0ly draw a conclusion that one machine is better than the other. But, but, but…..I have started an intermittent fast via the ‘Zero’ app. This involves finishing ...

Philips corporate ploy

Hi all: I’m assuming a lot of you had a machine that was part of the Philips recall announced in April of this year. Now they are telling us that they are moving to fix our machines and that the whole process might take up to a year. What pisses me off is that most of us cannot wait any length of ti...

Sad Mac user

Hello I’ve decided that I need to understand how a knowledge of software can help me with my machine settings. I’m about to buy an Airsense 10 and does this machine work with MAC OS or does everything need to viewed through the lens of Windows? Or am I mixing up my hardware and my software and it ha...

Re: Annoying

1...yes, you can always switch supply companies. Some extra paperwork is involved because they need some documentation from your doctor...and your doctor and insurance company should be able to work that out fairly easily if they will just do a little bit of paperwork. 2...I assume you are wanting ...

Annoying

Hello everyone: I have used Respironics Optilife masks and nasal pillows for a few years now and it seems to work well for me. The other day my supplies company that I have used ever since I went to my original ENT Doctor called for their regular 'Do you need any new supplies' inquiry? I said a repl...

HI friends: I am a newbie and have been on CPAP therapy for merely 5 days. Right now I am concentrating on staying the course and maintaining calm throughout the night. I have had some increase in energy and some continued tiredness but I know after 5 days n pattern has obviously emerged. My questio...
