Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
I put 9, but I need 10 to really feel good. That is hard to do! It is hard to go to bed at 7:30... I am still working and that 6 am comes so soon!

Re: OT..Poor poor pitiful me
I am 66 and have been 'young at heart' until this year but I intend to get back to denial about aging real soon. Not quite the same journey, but my CA day was in 2001. Doing great! I am still working as an adjunct instructor, but just restarted carving. Life is good. Bumps along the way and while s...

Re: Solved Hans Rudolph Leak Problem
Oh how I wanted to be able to use the Hans Rudolph mask. My sinuses loved it. No chin strap needed and as you say, no need to tape lips. My problem was very high cheek bones and constant leaks below that area. Never had eye leaks.
Hope it continues positively for you!!! Super mask and super company

Re: Is "jaw drop" a problem for you...
I wear the Oracle and did not like the chin strap, so I now use a generic cervical collar that I trimmed. I wear it loosely, but it is still enough to prevent jaw drop and it is not as hot. Live in FL, but have A/C. It also helped with my flow limitation and hypopneas which are my main problems. Apn...

You can get the basic, which I have, from Walgreens and probably WalMart too. I do not wear it tight as in the first photo as I do not...

I hope I did this right. I can only show you the difference in my printouts. Wow... that is big, but you can see the difference most clearly!

Re: definition of flow limitation
Flow limitation, when constant as it is for me, can be almost as bad as my having more apneas. I have very few apneas, but constant hypopneas or flow limitation. I cannot raise the pressure as my sinuses have a fit... even when using the Oracle (the only mask I can use and I have tried over 15) My s...

Re: benzodiazepines and O.S.A what you guys think
I have taking Lorazapan for many years. To prove a point to various MDs I have gone off it. I had a long discussion with a psychiatrist once about its use. He said that the addition worries were more when you started to keep raising your dosage. For me, it is almost a placebo now for my chatterbox m...

Re: OMG! I slept on my back!
In talking with an Orthopedic doctor, the condition is an inflamed bursa sac, also known as bursitis. You have a number of bursa sacs in your body. They help muscles and tendons move against your bones. You have some large ones by your hip. They get inflamed easily. Making the joints stronger throu...

Re: Oracle 2 Oral Mask Lessons Learned in 10 months of usage
For any one interested, who uses the Oracle. I created a 'liner' like those for nasal masks for my Oracle. *Take your oldest, softest t-shirt that you no longer wear, but do not want to throw away. *Using the inner section of the Oracle as a template, cut out a shape that is roughly 1/2 inch bigger...

Re: Aveo TSD Dental Device?
I am a back sleeper and to have that pulling my tongue forward was unbearable. I sent it to a fellow in Canada, who wanted to try it and he did not like it either. perhaps if you are a side sleeper. Just a thought. When congested and having trouble using my CPAP I find if I just raise my head enough...

Re: Oracle 2 Oral Mask Lessons Learned in 10 months of usage
I just stopped using the Oracle because of the nose plug issue. I had been using it for over a year successfully. Those plugs were causing an non healing sore on one side. My nostrils are different sizes and I had rigged up a large and medium combo. Still had pain, plus I had to tape them in place!!...

Yes, thanks for the thanks. I leaned a lot when starting out. You may not feel perfect, but I know that how I sleep now is way better than before CPAP. Hang around and join in the fun. You will keep on learning too! I am a returning visitor to CPAPTalk. Had to get a new name etc as all was forgotten...

Re: No more moisturizers?
Certain ingredients in moisturizers can 'damage' the mask. Petroleum products are supposedly not good.
