Re: How was your OSA/CSA discovered?

I was 21, 5'11", weighted about 175, and had a blood pressure of 155+/100+. I saw one doctor who seemed baffled and felt it was something serious. He went as far as to tell me to get life insurance while I can and then told me he was going to France for two months and that we would work on it when h...

Re: DME-Respironics

Paphater, The machine I have is respironics (see my footer) and it collects every bit as much data as the S9. Im pretty new to this, but Ive been told the respironics series 60 a-flex auto is equivalent to an S9 auto. The S9 auto is just really popular on this forum. I imported my first nights data...

Re: DME-Respironics

Awesome, thanks Pugsy. Right now I'm using an oral appliance. When I got my first machine back in 07 the sleep doc was counting on the centrals going away on their own. I tried for a little over 10 months and it was an awful experience. Once it was finally decided that straight cpap wasn't working I...

DME-Respironics

I have been busy all day so please forgive my lack of using on the search button. I got a surprise call from my DME today (hadn't seen the doc for my post study follow up yet) and I'm scheduled to go in tomorrow to receive my cpap machine. I asked the gal if she knew what machine I was getting and s...

Re: ASV Study

PapHater, how are things going now? In my year on ASV I have noticed big changes for the better in my mood and daytime sleepiness. When I started ASV I thought I would give it six months to a year to get optimum therapy. One year later the machine and I are best friends. The worst night was the tri...

Re: Melatonin - suggestions please?

I regularly take melatonin and honestly can't tell a difference from the time released version and the regular. I take two of these and it works just as well if not better than the 5mg TR version I used to take. http://www.amazon.com/Nature-Made-Melatonin-Tablets-Value/dp/B005DEK990/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UT...

Re: ASV Study

Thanks guys, that's reassuring to hear. Overall this will be my fourth study and I'm really hoping it'll be my last. I had my first one in 2007 and after 9 months of hell the sleep doc came to conclusion that I have complex apnea. Apparently she thought all of those new centrals during my titration ...

Re: How old were you when you got your CPAP?

I was 21 when I first got it. The next nine months were hell. When I had my titration study they noticed a "few" central apneas that weren't there when I had my first study. Over those nine months I got significantly worse so by the end I dropped any notion of ever going back to any sort of XPAP. It...
