Re: Interesting Portable Battery Option on Amazon for $120
Has anyone actually traveled with this to use for their CPAP? Hubby and I are planning a trip to Italy in the Spring. Is this a good battery? And how long (approx.) would a charge last for CPAP use?

Batttery pack ? for dummies, like me
Okay, I was recently reading about battery packs and got totally flummoxed. How about a "Battery Packs for Dummies" tutorial? Because of a recent wind storm (yesterday), we lost power for about 6 hours. I was grateful that the power came back on before I went to bed, but it got me wondering what I w...

Re: Ever had anything creepy happen like a spider up the hose?
So far (2 months in to CPAP), I haven't had anything in my equipment. When I was kid, though, I was outside, playing and yelling, and a yellow jacket flew in my mouth and stung me on the tongue. I couthend talk for a week.

OT - For the gals. Anyone here had breast reconstruction?
I am looking at prophylactic bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Probably a "muscle-sparing free TRAM flap" procedure. Has anyone any experience with this, or similar reconstruction? I'd love to hear your stories.

Re: Do you have a regular exercise program?
I have a rebounder (mini trampoline) that I keep in the room with the TV. For 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, I bounce. It is easy or difficult as I want, and fun as all get out. I added hand weights to work my upper body. I had shoulder replacement more than a year ago, and this has improved my st...

Re: Fasting blood glucose higher than post-prandial
Do you take any diabetes medications? Insulin? What are you eating, and what is your exercise level? There are so many things that influence you blood sugar levels, including what meter you are using, and it's range of error. I'm a former medical technologist. While these readings are not so close a...

Why is everyone putting in the text from the previous post? Why don't you just answer the question, or make a comment. It's so totally redundant.

Tell me about Sleepyhead, please.
Hey, kiddos, I have figured out that the last time the RT adjusted my pressure, he did not lock my machine. Woo-hoo! Now, is Sleepyhead a program I can use to see my own readings? Do I need any special cables, etc.? Where will I find Sleepyhead, and will it work on my Mac? (My glucose meter won't, I...

Re: Grooves/Wrinkles on my cheeks!
Makeup can sometimes accentuate wrinkles or grooves. Try an "age reducing" foundation, like Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind. I think it has caffeine in to tighten the skin. Works well.

Re: OMG! I slept on my back!
No, I don't know how to unlock it. And, frankly, I trust my doc (she makes the decisions, the RT changes the settings) to decide how to treat me. I have enough to worry about, with keeping track of my blood sugar levels, my blood pressure, and now, deciding whether or not to have my boobs rebuilt af...

OMG! I slept on my back!
I have been a side sleeper for as long as I can remember. Sleeping on my back, I snore louder, longer, and more often (as most people do) than on my side. But, if I sleep on my left side too long my hip starts to hurt. Don't know why. But that side is okay with my nasal mask. On my right side, the m...

Booorrrring! Another melatonin question...
Night before last, I took 2.5 mg of melatonin before bed - the first time I have tried it. No effect whatsoever. I was awake for 90 mins. before falling asleep. Last night, I tried the same dose again. I fell asleep quickly, and slept well all night, but this morning I am feeling very sad. I read in...

Re: Have you used a CPAP in the hospital?
Thanks to all responders. Someone asked what surgery I am having. Well, I had my routine mammogram about 2 weeks ago, and they found a spot. Biopsy showed a Stage 0 (thank you, Lord) DCIS. Ordinarily, they would do a lumpectomy followed by radiation, but since I already had a DCIS on that side, and ...
