Re: Hubby apnea and the VA
The man is taking to CPAP like a duck to water! He says he is waking up less often to go to the bathroom and he feels "lighter, clearer and with more energy!" I have not heard him snore once since Friday evening. Hope it keeps up!

Thanks for the response, Pugsy! The VA uses Respironics, but I don't know which one he will get. I will post more after we get home tomorrow afternoon.

Hubby apnea and the VA
So... the VA set my husband up with all the gear for a home apnea test (pulse ox, nasal canula, heart monitor, etc. and found that he does, in fact, have apnea (I tried to tell them but I am just the wife!). So tomorrow we are on our way to LA (yup, 5.5 hours round trip) to pick up his machine witho...

Re: OT: First ocular migraine?
Have had these at least once or twice a year for a long time. Never have figured out what triggers them but my eye doctor says that they are harmless. Mine start as a small dot in the center of my vision, and then slowly slide out of my vision to the left. They can leave me with a slight headache bu...

I would not sleep without my CPAP!!!
I have been using CPAP for 6 months now (with great success) and for the first time last night the power went out in our area and I thought to myself... "I can do this, how hard can it be?!" Guess what? Did not sleep for more than a couple of minutes at a time until the power was back on! My next pu...

Re: Quattro Air Full Face Mask
I had an appointment with my ENT this morning and the tech is using it and LOVES it. He says that it is really lighter and gets a way better seal... Can't wait to try it myself!

Re: Just got a machine, uncomfortable & hate it
I know this is going to sound impossible but, try to sleep like you do without the mask on, in your usual sleeping positions. I tend to sleep on my side with my face mashed into the pillow and have found that the masks are pretty resiliant and do not have to be treated with kid gloves. Just remember...

Re: Going dry before end of night, what to lower first?
Good morning! First, it would be benificial if you would list all of your equipment so those in the know (not very often me!) can better help you. Second, your leak rate would be one of the things that I would look at first. I was also having a problem runnng out of water and was told by my sleep tec...

Re: Need solutions for itching underneath mask
Q-tips work pretty good and don't mess with the seal too bad. They could be longer for those hard to reach itches, though.

WildKat: You are brave to admit that!
I have promised the cushion to someone on the forum... Thanks for the interest and I will be sure to post any other CPAP stuff that comes my way that I don't need!

Re: newbie question
You can use heavy socks as hose covers... just cut the toe out and slide on as many as it takes to cover and keep them in place with twist ties. It will work in a pinch!
Good luck!
