Re: Wisp??
It took me so long to get the wisp I really wanted to love it. It is so tiny and light I thought it would work great but for some reason any pressure on the side of my nose even slight will cut off the air flow. I can only breathe through one side of my nose at a time. I measured my nose and it is ...

Re: So, why haven't you pursued CO2 re-breathing?
The tone wasn't accusatory. Don't blame me for overly zealous responses. The question was phrased to elicit negative responses: "why haven't you pursued this?"

Re: Need advice please: Abdomen fills with air
I don't have a good recommendation for you... It sounds like the doctor recommended mylanta to curb acid reflux which might be forcing a sphincter muscle open. Does your husband normally have issues with acid? How about burping, prior to CPAP? Eliminating caffeine helped reduce my air swallowing qui...

Re: So, why haven't you pursued CO2 re-breathing?
I'm using an PR ASV machine at the moment and have considered purchasing a Res Med ASV out of pocket. My S9 ASV was very effective at eliminating both my OA and CA events. However, I still had the respiratory instability which preceded the CA's. Based on my sleep studies, I could tell the clinical ...

Re: So, why haven't you pursued CO2 re-breathing?
Where did you have your calibration done? Right at the source. I heard there are more opportunities, but they still seemed centralized in MA. Several of the lead researcher's fellows are graduating and moving to other parts of the country, however. I would tend to doubt it. If you look at the study...

I don't think anyone here can provide you a good answer. Personally, I wake with a vicious headache when attempting to sleep without CPAP.

Re: So, why haven't you pursued CO2 re-breathing?
None of that helps if your airway is collapsed. I stop breathing ONLY because the muscles have let go. The goal of your sleep/titration studies is to maintain the airway. If your airway is still collapsing with treatment, then that treatment is not completely effective. Considering CO2 rebreathing ...

Mollete, you've demonstrated you're far too interested in assuming and denigrating before gathering information. If I had a better impression of you, your response might well matter.mollete wrote:Somnolence wrote:You simply have NFI what you're talking about.

Re: So, why haven't you pursued CO2 re-breathing?
I think it's ok to describe your personal experience with a procedure, but not ok to encourage others to try something that may harm them. I'm not encouraging other people to experiment on themselves. I asked what reservations people have about pursuing it. By "pursuing," I meant legitimately seein...

Re: So, why haven't you pursued CO2 re-breathing?
We can do without the condescending responses, folks. I understand new research can take some time to catch on, especially when the method of action for treatment is indirect, but that's no reason to dismiss it. I thought this should be more intuitive. The body's respiratory drive is far more respon...

Re: So, why haven't you pursued CO2 re-breathing?
I fixed the link, folks. Sometimes, forum software disagrees with link formatting. Most of us need more O2 (oxygen) and not CO2 (carbon dioxide). Only (some) people who have Central Apneas and Cheyne-Stokes breathing (as noted in the article in the link) could see any benefit from rebreathing CO2 as...

So, why haven't you pursued CO2 re-breathing?
I'm considering making an FAQ of sorts now that I am using this treatment, and I hope to become more familiar with the community's concerns. I have learned quite a bit about the research and feel it would be helpful to share. The CO2 re-breathing research citations have made the rounds on this board...

Re: Excessive Daytime Somnolence - Help, please!
My post immediately preceded yours, the one which I quoted a piece from. I interpreted your adherence to the hypothesis and lack of acknowledgement as though you disregarded my post. As for absolutes, there are few when it comes to health. However, I know that my own symptoms of nerve damage are res...
