Re: Nasal pillows vs nasal mask

Hi peacemaker, I am a side sleeper as well and was using the Swift FX Nasal Pillows primarily but have tried the Sleepweaver Elan Cloth mask. I could not get a good seal with the Sleepweaver which resulted in air blowing in my faces/eyes. I also have recently switched to the AirFit P10 and it has ma...

Re: Lunesta and Acid Reflux

Hi, Thanks everyone for the replies. I am going to skip the Lunesta tonight and go back to the melatonin and see how I feel. I would honestly rather only sleep 3 or 4 hours than wake up almost vomiting. I am somewhat nervous now for the first time in almost a year to go to bed. This sucks! Have a go...

Re: Lunesta and Acid Reflux

Google Lunesta side effects and see if reflux is one of them. Well, I had certainly not considered googling Lunesta and side effects. I guess in my sleep deprived state the most OBVIOUS thing in the world did not occur to me! Here, let me correct that right now.... <clicks on shortcut to google and...

Lunesta and Acid Reflux

Hi, I have been on CPAP for 13 months now with 100% compliance, however, I usually get between 3 and 4 hours of sleep per night. I started taking 1.5 mg of melatonin about 6 months in and while it helps me fall asleep, I can not stay asleep for more than usually 4 hours. I think I have had maybe 4 n...

"Need new DME in Smyrna GA -- suggestions?"

Hi, It has been quite a while since I have posted here but I was hoping to get some advice/help. I have had a falling out with my Sleep Apnea Doctor because I do not feel he has been listening to my issues concerning the amount of sleep I am getting. My Sleep Doctors office was also my DME provider....

CPAP - It seems to be working

Hi All, It has been a few weeks since I posted here. I have been using CPAP for 3 months now and am feeling better. I thought I would post the results of my first sleep study from November 2012 and my follow up Titration study from last month. Please let me know what you think and how my progress is...

Re: Slow but steady progress

You may have the straps adjusted a bit too snug. Also, some people find it helpful to put a small bit of Lansinoh lanolin cream on the nares just before masking up. You can find Lansinoh in the "Baby Care" section of most stores with a drug section. It's typically used by nursing mothers to soothe ...

Slow but steady progress

Hi All, I have not posted in a few weeks so I thought I would let you know how I am doing. I am happy to say that I have slept every night since Feb 1 with the CPAP mask. I am also back in my bedroom and getting between 4.5 to 5.5 hours of sleep. I still wake up once in awhile but I have always been...

Re: Awful night last night..need encouragement :)

Hi DreamingofSleep, I know how you feel, see this previous post. It has lots of good advice similar to what you have recieved so far. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=85881&p=781624#p781624 I have now been on CPAP for almost 5 weeks now and am definitely feeling better but there may be so...

Re: Inclining Bed

You know those firm thick wedge-type reading pillows you can buy in any drug store? What I did was buy one for twenty bucks, flip it over, slide it between my mattress and foundation while placing it to the right side a bit... my favorite side of the bed to sleep on. This raised my head and shoulde...

Re: Inclining Bed

Do you really mean 70 degrees? This is steeper than my recliner at the top reclining position. Can you sleep like that? If I could sleep like that I bet it would really help my apnea and lower the CPAP pressure. I can't sleep in one position all night anyway. Too much discomfort. Hi Warmbodies, The...

Re: Inclining Bed

In the mean time, while you are working this out, I have a bed wedge foam piece that I cannot use (incredibly lightly used - once) that I'd be happy to send to you if you would like to have it. Please pm me if you are interested with where to send it to, and I'll be happy to put it into the mail. H...

Inclining Bed

Hi All, I have started to have some success with CPAP and have found that I am able to fall asleep more quickly when I sleep at an incline. I have been on my couch for the past severaly days but would like to get back to my bed. I currently have a sleep number bed and found out that they make a fram...

Re: New here would like to share and hear back

Hi everyone, Well it is so nice to have a place I can go to and not feel so all alone. I appreciate your posts and find them very helpful. All of my life I have struggled with fatigue, usually being diagnosed with depression. I was thin much of my life, but in my forties started gaining belly weigh...
