Re: Daytime practice keeping mouth closed - more info?

To feel what you need to do, start with your mouth only slightly open. As you start breathing in through your mouth, lightly move your tongue up against the roof of your mouth, and it will stop your breath completely with very little effort. I don't get this. When I put my tongue on the roof of my ...

Re: Getting used to not sleeping on my back

For tomma: Sleeping Beauty This type of sleeper sleeps on the side, back slightly curled with knees bent and arms folded. The problem - None. This is the healthiest position to sleep in. This posture complements the natural curvature of the spine. To make it even better - Add comfort and reduce stre...

Re: DRY THROAT ANYONE?

Cough lozenge? Won't that rot your teeth out overnight? Seems like the sugars in the lozenge give harmful mouth bacteria an ideal growing environment.

Re: DRY THROAT ANYONE?

Humidification might do some good. No, I have already been through that and it just doesn't help this mouthbreather. In my research I see many posts where other members say the same. The OP, Summer Rain, reported maximum humidity did not help her. Oh that Oracle sounds horrible. Don't think I could...

Re: DRY THROAT ANYONE?

So what is a mouth breather suppose to do? It's easy to say "try to breathe through your nose". It's also easy to say " don't stop breathing while you sleep". Neither one is a solution. I already found several things here to try. - A chinstrap to keep mouth closed. - Tape lips to keep mouth closed....

Re: One Month on CPAP - Major Disappointment

Mozart's post was so preposterous that it doesn't even merit a response. I hope Mozart is gone, and if he's not, I hope people here won't engage him (hoping he'll see the error of his ways is futile, IMO), and failing that, I hope admin will lock this thread down. Well you have 4500 posts and shoul...

Re: Study Suggests Lower Mortality Risk for the overweight

"The study in the OP and the handling of it by NYT is a shame. Clearly excess weight, especially stomach fat, is a big killer." CBS Evening News had their doctor report on the study. He said almost exactly what you just said. He seemed emotional that this study will be taken as an excuse for being o...

Re: Study Suggests Lower Mortality Risk for the overweight

I don't think it is the fast food. It's, - soft drinks at home and at restaurants - food at all restaurants - large portion sizes and high carb - food at home - look at grocery carts full of high carb food and recipes for large portion sizes McDonald's is not the problem. They put salads and grilled...

That is a great idea.

Avi or anyone, What type of converter would work with my Respironics machine?

I already have a 100-ft. extension cord.
