Re: Getting discouraged....can't get a mask that won't leak!!!

It could be more meaningful if posters show graphs results of the leaks from their masks. Words like "it works for me" don't tell much. Thank you, but I do not track this right now. I just haven't had the time to figure out how and what I need to do (though I do plan to when things at work/home slo...

What is your pressure?
Does you pulmonologist have a facility where you can test fit different masks and perhaps check them out for an overnight trial?

Getting discouraged....can't get a mask that won't leak!!!

I am now on my 5th mask, and still cannot find one that works. I started out with a nasal mask. I loved it, but had to switch due to the fact that I have severe allergies and sinus problems. There are several nights a month where I cannot breath through my nose or I cough a lot, so I switched to a f...

DIY leak strap for now???

Hey everyone! So thanks to all of the advice on here, I finally got to a place with my nasal mask where it was comfy and I was sleeping. Unfortunately, I have horrible allergies and sinus problems, and it got to be where the nasal mask wouldn't work due to congestion or coughing. So I switched to a ...

Re: Cleaning your equipment

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I have been using tap water to clean mine as well, but today when I was cleaning I got to wondering if I should be using distilled!

Re: nose bridge rubbing relief

I was having nose bridge pain, plus pain and irritation on my nose, forehead, and under my nose from my nasal mask. I recently purchased the mask liner from Padacheeks and it has worked wonders for me!

Cleaning your equipment

This may be a very stupid question, but do you clean your equipment with distilled water or is just tap water okay?

Re: Very new to CPAP and ready to give up...mask uncomfortable

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Last night I did a little makeshift mask liner and it helped immensely. I also loosened up the straps (they were pretty tight, but since the DME set it for me, I figured it was where it should be). Both of those changes made a WORLD of difference. I almost slept a...

Re: Very new to CPAP and ready to give up...mask uncomfortable

Thanks for all of the replies...so helpful!

I think tonight I'll try to make some sort of liner to see if that helps. My DME wasn't much help at my initial appointment, so it's great to have this resource of folks who know what they are talking about!!

Very new to CPAP and ready to give up...mask uncomfortable

I'm very new to CPAP....I've had my machine about 2 weeks, and I'm almost to the point where I just want to give it up. I am really trying to be positive about this and I really want it to help me. I'm a 34 year old mother of 2 small children and I barely have energy through the day to do anything w...
