Re: I'm trying a dental device option
Seriously, was this a necessary response? I'm trying to help others out with my experience and this is the thanks I get? It seems to me that the only one crying here is you. I was ok with the CPAP although it seems sorta drastic to do the CPAP ritual going to sleep then waking up and doing the clean...

Re: I'm trying a dental device option
I clean everything when I wake up so it can air out. Then at night, I fill the reservoir, strap my chin strap on a few times cause it slides off sometimes, then put my mask on. Then my wife decides she wants to talk to me, so off comes the mask, the chin strap then slides off. :) (Exaggerating obvio...

Re: I'm trying a dental device option
I was ok with the CPAP although it seems sorta drastic to do the CPAP ritual going to sleep then waking up and doing the cleaning ritual. :) You would think with technology there would be a simpler approach, but maybe not. Now it's nice just putting the device in my mouth at night and going to bed. ...

Re: I'm trying a dental device option
No jaw soreness at all. My teeth would get sore the nights I would make an adjustment up, but the soreness would go away by the next day. I got used to the device fairly quick, but I am waking up tired when using the device so I have been using both, the CPAP and Oral applicance until I had to have ...

Re: I'm trying a dental device option
I just got my results from my current sleep study using the oral device. I'm waiting for them to email me the actual results, but my sleep study therapist told me that the first sleep study I had without using anything, i was not breathing 18 times an hour. With the oral device, I'm down to 3. She s...

Re: I'm trying a dental device option
I see that now. Look at the upright position. I wonder what that means. I fall asleep on my side but don't know what happens when I am sleeping. It looks like my sleep apnea would not be an issue if I stayed on my side. It also looks like the main issue with my sleep apnea is obstructive, so the den...

Re: I'm trying a dental device option
I did remove dairy from my diet a while back when the allergy issue got bad but didn't notice a difference. I then started to remove certain things from my diet one at a time with not relief. I also lost a good amount of weight and I've been working out consistently for about 10 years now. I am curr...

Re: I'm trying a dental device option
I've tried different settings with the humidifier and shut it completely off with no relief. I do have a newer CPAP. It's an autoset. I can't remember the name or model, I'm at work right now, but I have tried so many different things. I think it is an Airsense10. They originally set it from 8 to 24...

Re: I'm trying a dental device option
My dentist had me do a sleep study before he would see me. Now that I have the device, once I have moved up in adjustments to where I feel comfortable, he is going to order another sleep study to see how the device is working. I have had allot of sinus issue's and never thought it was the CPAP at fi...

I'm trying a dental device option
I've been using a CPAP for about 5 years. Since then, I've had sinus issue's. I use a full facemask with an APAP. I found a sleep dentist that specializes in dental devices. I was diagnose recently on the low side of moderate so the dentist said that I was a good candidate for the dental device. I r...

Re: CPAP and APAP Question
Thank you Pugsy for that explanation. It makes allot of sense. I am going to see if they can turn the minimal number up to about 8 or 9 just to see. It seems obvious that I don't need anything less than that. I talked to my therapist and they are going to remotely chance the lower pressure to 8 to s...

Re: CPAP and APAP Question
Very true. I think I was hoping to wake up and see some really low pressure numbers. I also thought I would feel better after using the APAP. I actually felt more tired when I got up. I used it last night ... That doesn't sound right to me. If I can keep my AHI well under 5 using a pressure of 11, w...

Pugsy, thanks for clearing that up. I understand now. AVIL123, I believe that is mine.
