Re: OT - Nerve Damage Healed?

Perhaps reviewing the ergonomics of your seated position will help with both your upper and lower body symptoms. The nerves from your hands are connected all the way down your arms from your neck. You mentioned that the symptoms are worse in the afternoon, so do you think it may have something to do...

Re: CPAP Therapy ?'s

Snuzzie, if you check on the Mirage Swift 2 page on the host website (cpap dot com), you can watch some of the fitting videos they have for your mask. They show you where the nasal pillows should sit and how loose the headgear should be so that you will have a comfortable fit.

Good luck!

Re: Sleep style 200

If you hold down the top and bottom buttons (CMH20 and arrow) for a few seconds, you can access the admin menu that will allow you to change the pressure.

Once you get in there, you can use the arrow button to forward through the fields and the up and down buttons to adjust your pressure.

Re: My CPAP Journey

Have you tried wearing a wrist brace to bed for the carpal tunnel? I do that when my hands are acting up. I wouldn't suggest wearing it all day, but if you wear it while you are sleeping, it will keep you from bending your wrist. I also have some exercises I do that stretch out the tendons. Please P...

Re: Side Effect, Mid-Back Pain

Paul, I had the same problem in the same area. In the beginning, it was hard for me to wear the cpap for long periods of time. i would wake up after a few hours with that awful back pain, take off the mask and go back to sleep and wake up several hours later with no back pain. Docs were puzzled and ...

Re: CPAP and needing less sleep?

Sleepy, when I first started apap two and a half years ago, I went from sleeping 10-11 hours a day down to six hours. That was about 30 extra hours I added to my week! As time went on, I trained myself to sleep longer and I am at about 7.5 hours on average. I say average because going through peri-m...

Re: Getting a copy of CPAP Prescription?

FOLLOWUP:

I followed quietmorning's suggestion about having cpap.com request a prescription from my doctor's office. It took them a few days but they faxed it over and I was able to get a copy off the MyAccount area on cpap.com. yay!

Thank you for that excellent tip!

Re: Getting a copy of CPAP Prescription?

thanks everyone, for your comments and suggestions @Stu: I told her I wanted it for traveling and that is when she said I could visit the ER if something happened. That seems a little extreme to me. @Pugsy: I do have a GP and was planning on asking him at my next checkup. I will take a copy of my sl...

Getting a copy of CPAP Prescription?

I recently called my sleep doc's office to get a copy of my APAP prescription and they told me they could not send it to me. I reminded the nurse on the phone that it was part of my medical record, but she said, no, it is a prescription and can only be sent to a pharmacy (or DME) and "that is how th...

Re: Diet that actually works with Apnea

I lost weight pretty quickly after I started cpap, using weight watchers. It was probably a combo of finally getting oxygen in my bloodstream and getting REM sleep that helped me focus on following the diet. I lost 30 lbs over about 8 months and kept it off. What really worked for me with WW was cor...

Re: Please take this poll for my college paper. :-)

I was clueless when I got my apap two years ago. I hadn't really had many major health concerns before so I (foolishly) thought the doctors were giving me something that would fix me. I struggled for a long time getting used to the machine, the mask (started with a Quattro ffm and moved to nasal pil...

Re: How old were you when you got your CPAP?

I was 43, suffering from severe migraines several times a week. Pretty much brain dead most days but never considered i might have sleep apnea... I am not overweight and am very active (cyclist). Neurologist put me on apap a little over two years ago. Migraines went (mostly) away. I don't go on over...
