Re: Feeling hopeless after septum surgery
It takes a long time for swelling to go down after septoplasty. If the ent told you it would solve the apnea, then he should have done more research. All research I found was a good chance to IMPROVE my apnea. I had it in September 12 with great results on my breathing. Both sides have air flow. Suc...

Re: OT: Teachers allowed concealed weapon at school
Thanks for posting that essay, torontoCPAPguy, Mr, Correia wrote down everything about guns I think, and even more, that I agree with. I was going to ignore posting to this thread because it is almost useless to argue this issue. You have however posted one of the most thoughtful articles about gun...

Re: OT: Teachers allowed concealed weapon at school
NONE of you have explained to me how a handgun would fare versus an AK-47. It would not have stopped Columbine or Virginia Tech tragedies. A sign at the Marine Corps Scout Sniper School, Quantico reads " The average rounds expended per kill with the M-16 in Vietnam was 50,000. Sniper averaged 1.3 r...

The process for acquiring a concealed carry permit is very rigorous, they don't just give those permits to anyone. not z'actly. in alabama my wife and i got concealed permits by going to the sheriif's office, showing our drivers license, answering a few questions and paying $20. they run a criminal...

Re: I learned today I have deviated septum.
I had the surgery in November and I would do it tens times again if I had to. My nasal breathing is greatly improved. On the surgery spectrum, this is a relatively minor one. You should expect to not sleep well for about a week while the blood/boogers clear up. This won't cure your apnea. As far as...

Re: No need for turbinate reduction if doing septoplasty?
The ENT said my enlarged turbinate was caused by my repeated sinus infections, up to five a year. It is hard to say because I was a 10 year, 2 bottles a week Afrin user. If you have a question find a trusted ENT and ask. Mine was confident and straight forward. All of my questions were answered no m...

Re: No need for turbinate reduction if doing septoplasty?
I had septoplasty, turbinectomy and a bone spur removed in September. It was the best thing I ever did. I am 28 and do not ever remember breathing through my nose. I had 10 days of pain, Maybe a good 4 out of 10. I asked the ENT that same question. He said it would take a long a long time for it to ...

I just got home from my titration, my pressure is an 8. I also picked up my PEG from two weeks ago. My AHI was 90 with one OA event lasting 77 sec. I was told I responded well to cpap.
