Re: There goes my Everest 2 ....
I had a feeling, the auto technology would reign in the pressure to the required amount. Setting a bit higher makes sense - allowing the machine to decide, providing useful data. If you know anything about the (criminal) US healthcare system, you'll understand that without insurance, I'm on my own. ...

It's very nice to hear that you are so satisfied and that it's working so well for you Now, to REALLY blow your mind, try these settings: Mode to Autoadjust, max pressure to 15, min pressure to 5, Smartflex to 3, I and E round to 3. I think you'll love it and get the best therapy you have ever had ...

Re: There goes my Everest 2 ....
Thought I'd follow up after my first night with the Intellipap. The machine is slightly larger in volume compared with my Everest 2. But has no power brick, which is nice. The reservoir seems to hold more water, and has twice the heat settings - this is a plus. Very little condensation (rainout) wit...

Re: There goes my Everest 2 ....
"CPAPs or BiPAPs requiring inverters reduce the power time even more." What does this phrase mean to you? Here's another site: Use of a sine wave inverter, DC converter or heated humidification will reduce the expected run time. http://www.batterypowersolutions.net/Our_Products.shtml and another......

Re: There goes my Everest 2 ....
I own an IntelliPAP and have had two S9's and am now using a PRS1 551P through the public healthcare. I will also reccommend the IntelliPAP Autoadjust to you. It's the most quiet of all, the humidifier is much better designed than the others and the Autoadjust algorithm suits me best of all. I also...

Re: There goes my Everest 2 ....
- S9 with a converter cuts the available power significantly. Why do you say that? I would expect the S9 DC-DC converter to be reasonably efficient. Now, using a battery-inverter-power brick-S9 combination would be less efficient. archangle - do you have any links to articles about "airflow wavefor...

Re: There goes my Everest 2 ....
The Intellipap does not record airflow waveforms. In my opinion, treating apnea without airflow waveforms is like treating heart disease without an EKG. You have to pay an extra $100 for the data module for an IntelliPAP in order to get the limited data the machine does record. The PRS1 will run di...

Mr. Bartfast, Thank you, sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Appreciate all your input - including the PMs. I'll keep the Opus 360 in mind as an alternative. I believe you may sleep a bit more peacefully than I. I sleep with Japanese buckwheat hull pillows which rest under the neck and lower sid...

Re: Has everyone gone insane? CPAP Monitoring/Modems & SD Cards?
Thanks for the laugh! I agree! It's none of their f*ing business. You pay for insurance. The insurance company manages risk. If you get a prescribed medicine or device - it is up to YOU what you do or do not do with it as long as you don't violate laws. The ones I've seen with modems require a work...

Re: Any nasal pillow mask that vents *upward*?
Hi Tilly, Congrats on your baby How craft oriented are you or your husband? I think you could easily modify the nasal pillow mask you currently own. Here's how I would do it. Measure the circumference of the round piece just below the vents (above the swivel). Get another piece of soft round hollow ...

Re: 2 nights no power - no cpap - THANKS SANDY!
Before I got my CPAP, I took a tennis ball, put it in a t-shirt (dead center/back)wrapped a rubber band around it. Then wore the shirt at night. This helped me stay on my side. Not as good as CPAP, but not as bad as nothing. I wish you the best!

There goes my Everest 2 ....
Greetings folks! This is my first post. I've spent the last several days reading this forum and others. Feel like I've fallen down the rabbit hole My Aeiomed Everset 2 is giving up the ghost - as the manufacturer apparently did in 2010. This could be a good thing! Time for a new machine. My unit rig...
