Re: New Device To Revolutionize CPAP!!

I'm just glad no one has stolen my idea of a solar powered CPAP. With the growing trend to be more green and environmentally aware, I think it will really take off. It will only require a few small changes in sleeping habits...like sleeping during the day, in direct sunlight. But when one factors in...

Re: What does the sleep doc do long-term?

If you are asking if they have any type of plan for you, the answer is no. There is no "every 2 years we do x, and after 5 years we check y". They just want to "monitor" you, and do a sleep test when they need to verify something. I need mine to approve mask and equipment orders. For me, its all bee...

Re: Can Sleap Apnoea be Cured Permanently

Not to sound like an a**hole, but can anything truly be "cured permanently"? As an example, I had surgery and was "cured" for over 5 years, but the apnea came back as I got older, gained weight, and had more stress in my life. Now I lost 20+ pounds and my doc says its gone again. However, I sleep be...

Re: Dr says I don't have sleep apnea anymore but....

Thanks for your comments guys. Im building a good list of questions for my doctor for sure. kteague, I noticed the heart rate numbers too. All I can think is that its an error. I have never seen numbers like that one any other study, not on my home O2 monitor (my lows are usually in the 40's), and I...

Re: Dr says I don't have sleep apnea anymore but....

Hi, I try not to sleep on my back at home since I still have some GERD. I would have to look up my past AHI but it was in the teens to 20's from what I remember. What does EEG arousal mean? Does that wake you up or just mean change in brain waves? The page not shown on this post says no abnormal EEG...

Dr says I don't have sleep apnea anymore but....

Hi, I just had a sleep test after loosing about 15 pounds and now, according to my doctor, I should put my machine in the closet because "it's making it worse" since I can see events on my machine when I look at the data. I am both happy and somewhat questioning his conclusions. My test was done wit...

Has your blood work include hormones and thyroid? Just curious as I didn't see that mentioned. Not all blood work includes that.

Re: sao2 low of 82

If this was my mom, I would make an appointment and take her back to the doctor. You can't usually get much done on the phone from my experience. Odd that the sleep study isn't good enough. Maybe if you meet with the doc it will be.

Re: Poor Sleep Habits

If you do the math, when you take care of your body and get the sleep you need, you will be able to watch much more TV in the long run, if you know what I mean. Get that sleep and optimize your CPAP so your AHI gets better. It's so important.

My wife likes being called "wife", but really likes to be called my "queen". Since that makes me the king, I good with that.

Re: Micro Disposable CPAP

I hope something like that does come about. Philips Respironics, which I have, is probably using a design from the 1970's. It would be nice have some tech people shake things up a bit. But I don't even understand how that is going to stay in your nose at a high pressure when you breathe out. I'd be ...
