Re: really frustrated! finding a doctor in boston?
so what is a reasonable next step? If you've been Rx'd CPAP therapy, you need to learn how to make it work. Start by filling out your profile and listing the equipment you have like CPAP machine, mask, etc. If you have a machine capable of recording data, you need the software set up on your PC so ...

really frustrated! finding a doctor in boston?
ive tried 3 different sleep doctors, one at beth israel, one at MGH and one at St. elizabeths. none have been helpful. the most they have done is prescribe a cpap and send me for further testing. its been a nightmare going through all the tests, using the cpap and not getting anywhere. i wear the cp...

rec's for new cpap machine
Hello. I currently use the resmed s9. I am going to be getting a new machine. Which machines are most capable of recording data so I can monitor my own therapy?
thanks.
thanks.

cpap / septoplasty
I was suggested to have septoplasty by ENT surgeon. I declined it, this was years ago. Have read long term results not great. This has impacted my sleep in a major way. My main issue is always feeling tired due to poor sleep and a sleep study said I do breathe out of my mouth a lot and though not en...

cpapfit pillow
i just got this pillow. used it for 3 nights. it seems to make no difference and is a pricey pillow. i knock my mask off when i sleep on my side, this has not seemed to help.
am i missing something? have others tried this pillow and found it not helpful?

sleeping position and mask leaks
hi i am a mouth breather and a side sleeper. i have only had very limited success with full face masks. i now use the mirage quattro as that is the best but it always leaks and i always remove it after a couple hours. i think its related to my sleeping position. i sleep on my side with my chin tucke...

data re: heart attacks and CPAP
hi. so i read the article in the link above in cpap news and ive seen other studies that show CPAP is not necessarily gonna keep you from dying from a heart attack. obviously in some ways thats totally true, its not a pacemaker. however, is there strong data that cpap for sleep apnea has better over...

pressures
hi. my AHI is very high and my apap is set to 4-14 range.
i set it to 9-14 during the day to try for a few minutes and it felt much better.
does 4-14 find the best pressure and stay with it? is that reliable? may it be the best pressure is a 10 but apap stays at a 5?

Re: every single mask leaks
the best mask is amara view, so far. overtightening the mask isnt what causes the leaks. it leaks at any level of tightness. the leaks are not small leaks. they start small and if i can fall asleep with them they end up being big leaks, the machine usually has a red sad face on it (resmed S9). on au...

mask issues
i have mild to moderate sleep apnea. i have tried 4 different masks, a full face, dreamwear, amara view, and another full face. all masks leak, all masks come off after a few hours, my AHI rarely goes below 5. i was told maybe the mask is the wrong size but they are fitted to me by a tech. i am so t...
