CPAP and preppers?
I recently came across a Nat Geo show called Doomsday Preppers. I`m fascinated by the concerns, the creativity, and the obsessions of the preppers. One of the people profiled had diabetes as nd she had to make special preps for her disease. So I've been thinking about how a CPAP user would prep for ...

Re: Tonsil surgery gone wrong
What a tragedy! That poor family not only an explanation but also justice. Back in July my appendectomy went wrong when the surgeon cut my colon. I ended up with an infection and a colostomy. I'm now recovering from a surgery to reverse the colostomy. I have a malpractice attorney initiating a suit....

Re: Going under Anesthesia while having Central sleep apnea.
I've had anesthesia twice in the past 6 months. The anesthesiologist told me I had a difficult airway. This means that it is difficult to intubated me. Nevertheless I was intubated for both surgeries. On one occasion I remained intubated until fully awake. This was frightening because I was also res...

NG tube and CPAP
Has anyone successfully used CPAP while having a nasal gastric tube. I use nasal pillows and the nostril with the NG tube leaked so badly that the CPAP was unusable. I am in a major hospital system facility and the staff appear to be so uncertain about CPAP that they ask patients to bring their own ...

Re: OT: when-docs-make-mistakes-should-colleagues-tell
Well it's about time! Last July I had an emergency appendectomy and woke up with a colostomy because the 71 year old surgeon nicked my sigmoid colon. (Appendix is lower right abdomen and sigmoid colon is lower left.) While in the hospital I felt like the staff was trying to tell me things "between ...

Re: Review: HealthCare.gov a winner despite glitches
As the mother of a survivor of chilfhood cancer I am grateful for Obama care. Eeckel, I have been looking at options for my wife and myself. Both of us now have individual policies. I seem to be missing something and will probably take up a local broker's offer to help me. What specifically about O...

As the mother of a survivor of chilfhood cancer I am grateful for Obama care. I am outraged by the abuses of big pharma. The recent article in the NY times really upset me. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/13/us/th ... .html?_r=0

Re: Anybody know anything about Pot trials for Apnea
A low-carb chocolate brownie? I would find it SO much easier to stick to such a diet... Well you could try the black bean brownie that low carb dieters talk about. I'm sure MJ could be worked into this! Ingredients 1 15 oz. can (~ 1 3/4 cups) black beans, well rinsed and drained 2 large flax eggs (...

What qualifies the DME to act as a doctor?!oak wrote:Remind me not to join an HMO when I go on Medicare next June. Yikes! I don't know what I would do in your situation. Sounds like talking to a service desk instead of the mechanic about your car."I have no direct access to a doc"
