Re: Central Apnea Question
Hello ignorantone, The question about centrals increasing over time is really an excellent one. The interesting thing about central apnea is that it can be brought about by the application of pressure, ie complex sleep apnea. I wonder if in 2012 you needed more pressure to ablate the apneas and the...

Re: advice on stopping leaks with a sleepweaver elan mask
Just got it yesterday and it comes with two masks - a medium and a large - it's hard to tell which one fits better as both seem to leak about the same amount and seem equally comfortable. It also comes with a strip of rigid nylon about 1 inch by 5 inches that contains velcro but no instructions abo...

Re: advice on stopping leaks with a sleepweaver elan mask
I use it occasionally and glad I have it, especially since the small cushion is available. It's my go-to mask for travelling because it's more compact and a lot harder to damage than my silicone-based masks. I also give it a lot of points for ease of cleaning and maintenance.

Re: Respironics Wisp - First Impressions
After speaking with Clinical Sleep Solutions about the cloth tearing problem I felt relieved and confident in Resperonic's recognition and solution. Clinical Sleep Solutions offered to send me new silicone headgear. They did not require me to return the cloth headgear. I only pay $15.00 shipping. I ...

Re: Respironics Wisp - First Impressions
I too experienced the headgear fabric ripping problem. It appears that the ripping is likely to continue if I get a replacement. I may throw good money after bad by returining it for a replacement. If I do, I'll only wear it if I can't use one of my other masks. Since it ripped on the right side whe...

I use a Resmed S9 Autoset and the IntelliPAP AutoAdjust. Both with humidifiers. Although the Devilbiss has some features the Resmed doesn't (wider presure adjustment range, ability to set response paramaters to events and air temprature control without having to purchase a special hose) the Resmed b...

Re: First time CPAP User (stomach sleeper)
Contour pillow definitely helps but not always necessary depending on mask. I comfortably sleep on my stomach with it and Resmed Quatro FX full face mask. My Sleepweaver Elan is well suited to sleeping on my stomach. No need for the contour but I use it anyway. The Respironics Wisp (nasal mask) is a...

Re: Canadian Websites?
Sleep Solutions displays their prices. You have to sign up as a member to see them. You don't need an rx to purchase a mask but you do to purchase a machine. Their machine prices tend to be much higher than cpap.com. Thus, I purchased my Devilbiss inteli Autoadjust from cpap.com.

Re: Respironics Wisp - First Impressions
The most I can say about facial hair is I don't have any but leaks tend to happen after wearing this and other masks for 4-6 hours. Perhaps facial stubble (mine is pretty coarse) is a contributor. I'd like to stay focused on the Wisp so I may speak about this issue in another thread. I was confused ...

Re: Respironics Wisp - First Impressions
I have the fabric frame. Love how it feels when I'm wearing it. It seems like it will stand up to a lot of wear. It doesn't leave marks or indents, even while sleeping on my side. It's amazing how loose I can adjust it while maintaining a good seal. I define a good seal as zero leaks and no air nois...

Respironics Wisp - First Impressions
Wisp arrived today. I was surprised it arrived so soon. Cudos to sleepsolutions.com and Canada Post for getting it to me in one day at no extra cost. Total cost was $115.00. I'll spend tonight sleeping with it but here are some initial impressions. I'll begin with comfort, fit and ease of use. I'll ...

I'm delighted there's this much interest. I may be the first on the forum to get one. I'm looking forward to writing an in-depth review. I'll also compare it to the Swift FX and Sleepweaver Elan. I'll start a new thread.

Wisp on the Way
Decided to try the Resperonics Wisp. Clinical Sleep Solutions in Canada has it for $115.00. Seems like a good price. I should have it next week, possibly this week. I'm surprised they have it and cpap.com doesn't. I'm looking forward to using it and posting my impresssions. I'd love to hear your imp...

Music to my ears or should I say to my snout? The medium is a little too large for me. Hopefulyy the small is a better fit.
