Re: OT - Statins and You

Too many physicians prescribe statins based on LDL-C alone exposing their patients to risks like you suffered when there may be little or no cardiovascular risk. And conversley, Duckdog, the statin prescribed may not be enough, even though it brings LDL-c down to an acceptable level. The position o...

Re: OT - Statins and You

I have spent the last 20 years studying this and trying to interpret the findings of various studies beyond the belief that statins need to be added to the water supply. What I am taking now does a few very beneficial things. One, it reduces cardio inflammation, which is a huge indicator of heart ri...

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

I am finally one with my mask; it took over 2 years, over 20 candidates. From day one, I knew that I had to do this; and it has improved my health, my life, and has changed my disposition from mean and nasty to quite mellow. I know you're not a quitter. You've got spunk. Welcome. I think we'll be f...

Re: OT - Statins and You

There is a lot about statins, cholesterol, and heart disease that most people and doctors just don't know. I was taking 10mg of Lipitor back in 1999, and my complaints about muscle pain were totally brushed off by my doctor. Unfortunately, I ended up losing my left kidney through atrophy before I wi...

Re: Hello: I'm new and here is my story

Boy, does all of this sound familiar. I'm waiting for the "good" to start as well. Hope it does soon for both of us.

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

Good news, last night was not so bad. Was woken once to run DD service for my son and his drunken friends, and then early morning. Then slept another three hours after that.

I must become one with the mask.

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

Duckdog, please post your machine model (the exact model, not just "Respironics" or "System One"), found on the bottom of your machine, and the make of the mask you are using. Forum members cannot offer concrete suggestions without that info. The model is 560 P, and it is set at 11.0 constant. I ne...

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

Well, spent the day walking around in a fog, and then had the worst narcoleptic episode of my life while working one on one with a student today. That was after what I thought was a pretty good night with the machine. That HAS to stop or I will lose a very good job. One more time, and I'm done and n...

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

Ok Duckdog, if you're done ranting for the moment how about following up with the model of your machine and the type of mask you use. Maybe we can suggest an alternative mask that we find more comfortable or, ways we've found to make the whole process a little less awful. I will do that when I get ...

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

Seriously folks, thanks for showing you want to support me. No, this is not a prank. What it is is me throwing my rage out on an online forum so that I don't vent it on my family. I can honestly say that this is not a prank. I am not setting this up to be one, I just got carried away with frustratio...

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

I wish you wouldn't. It's not clear to me (1) what machine you actually have (as noted above some System Ones are top-of-the-line); (2) what setting it is you're trying to change; (3) what problems you are having with using the machine; (4) what you mean when you say "this nonsense." You do realize...

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

Well, anyway you cut it, I can't return it, I can't get a refund, and I'm not continuing with this nonsense.

Son and I decided this machine is the perfect size for use as a 300m target for high power rifle shooting.

Peace, all.

Re: New Member, Questions About Respironics System One

Whatever. I am ready to quit now. I'm putting this machine into the closet for now and will have to do some serious rethinking about this whole nonsense.

Thanks for the forum, but I think I'll be moving on. :wavey:

Re: Help! Keep taking mask off

I have done this since I started with la Machine two weeks ago. Not something that I am happy with myself over.
