Re: Do exercise frequently ?

Thanks for ideas. I'm thinking about mild Pilates and a warm swimming pool. I don't give up. I'm also gluten free and working with a functional medicine pharmacist. I think I also need to have my bipap settings reevaluated. I slept in a recliner for 3 years. Now I'm in a real bed with my favorite hu...

Re: Do exercise frequently ?

I tell my grandkids I'm 102... Really 77. I have fibromyalgia, RA, peripheral neuropathy and some other stuff. For a while I was headed to a walker and increased pain meds, etc. Now the walker is in the basement. I am working with a movement method which hydrates all of the connective tissue in my b...

Re: How do you fight the sleepiness?

I sing in a choir. When I have to drive any long distance, I sing. I'm not being silly . My daughter lives 50 minutes from me and I like to help her with my 3 grandchildren. I have all our current music on a cd programmed in my car. I have usually memorized all music well before performance. This re...

Re: Things non-apnea people say.

My sister-in-law told me a few weeks ago that she has a CPAP machine on her closet shelf; been there for a few years. She didn't like it. So I told her about all the new mask choices like the all cloth masks or the teeny little Wisp. She said she'd look into it. RIGHT-- So yesterday her dear husband...

Re: Low Vitamin D level appears to cause sleep apnea

I watched the original presentation by Dr. Gominak and decided to give a try to raising my D3 level which is currently 49 and climbing. During the last year I also became gluten free. I also started consistent practice of Sue Hitzman's Melt Method. I am 75 with dx. fibromyalgia, RA and assorted auto...

Re: Diet: Does this dude have it right?

Pretty good synopsis. I'm down about 30 lbs. and dropping. Best, no more more hint of diabetes; All walking aids in the basement; pain med in half and dropping; neuropathy improving. I'm curious- if one changes a lot- even if for the better- does one need a reassessing sleep study?

Re: Pain Syndromes

Rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia plus assorted other aggravations but the major pain causer is peripheral neuropathy. I'm medicated to function with morphine and Aleve; also take Zoloft and Neurontin. No change after 1 yr of BiPAP ; However, after 5 months of no gluten grains, pain meds are halved...

Re: OT Anyone on Plaquenil

I have RA and a few other auto immune things; also, fibromyalgia. I do take Plaquenil and a few other appropriate meds. Pain is managed with an opiate. I have one replaced knee and fingers that don't all point the same way. I started a grain free eating life style in July in desperation because my f...

Re: Health crisis in USA. Fructose is poison & in many foods.

At 74 with pre diabetes (medicated), peripheral neuropathy (extremely uncomfortable and medicated with an opiate), weight that would not budge, and several auto immune things, I decided to try the "Wheat Belly" (William Davis) plan- figured it wouldn't kill me in 2 weeks. It did not kill me at all; ...

Re: Biotene formula has changed :( Update

ChunkyFrog- I have used OraMoist patches for over a year. I put one on the roof of my mouth every night. If I wake up during the night with a dry mouth, I put a squirt of Biotene gel on the patch area. The gel usually stays in place until morning. It has been helpful.

Re: Holistic Remedies for Restless Legs and PLMD

I have peripheral neuropathy which was getting lots worse last summer. I have been using an opiate to manage the pain. In July in desperation I read "Wheat Belly". There were several references to peripheral neuropathy. I figured I wouldn't die if I tried Dr. Davis' eating recommendations for 2 week...

Re: What is this floating in my tank?

I take the tank out in the AM; empty and let dry or clean with Dawn (uncreamed) and dry. The machine has a chance to dry out, too. The water is fresh every night; I am fortunate to have a R/O unit so I use that treated water. Also, the hoses and mask are cleaned daily. Also, I change both the filter...

Re: Any One try Oramoist Dry mouth patch from Walgreens?

Additional comment: During the night the soft gel flattens. Sometimes I feel like I need additional help. I have used a small amount of Biotene gel to augment the Oramoist gel. I have had a scratchy throat and put a Ricola unsweetened cough drop in my mouth; it stayed in place all night. I play arou...
