Re: Newbie - which auto CPAP machine?!
I have been on the 'pap' for 3 weeks and like my Intellipap plus a lot. I do wish however that I had a machine that records more info than I can get from mine. I'm all 'out of pocket' so cost was a big factor. All I can tell from the machine is AHI, Leaks and hours used I think. Entering the 12 digi...

Re: Tinnitus anyone?
I have multiple freq's in both ears singing to me all the time. I have just made an appointment at a hearing center for an eval. I'm hoping to try the new-ish mp3 player treatment. Thanks for the info.

Re: BPA in our hoses/masks?
I'm NOT worried about it at all. If you go up to the Search line and put in "BPA" you'll get eleven pages of posts and threads going back to April 5th of 2008. It's been discussed at great length here. . You're right 'guest', I should have searched first before starting thread. Thanks Tino for the ...

Re: Nasal mask without full headgear?
I am new to this, but found the Aloha nasal pillow VERY comfortable including the minimal head gear. No forehead gear at all, might be worth a try. Also, I agree with earlier poster, I don't like the 'ramp up' feature, and start with full blast right away. Unfort. I'm a mouth breather, and am going ...

Looking for a new/used FF mask
Hi, after my first week with CPAP and a nasal pillow, I think I'm going to need a FF mask to cover nose and mouth. All my expenses are out of pocket so I am hoping to find one here, for less money, from someone that may have an 'extra' or one they decided doesn't work for them. My sleep study used a...

BPA in our hoses/masks?
As most of us have heard (I assume) the risks of BPA in our plastics and food packaging (lately baby bottles see http://healthychild.org) I have been wondering if we're trading one problem (OSA) for another (exposure to concentrated and deliberate intake all night of a toxic chemical) BPA was origin...

I was expecting a smell from my new machine but thankfully I haven't had one. I like the post about maybe pulling smell from heated table varnish etc.

Re: What about these mouth opening solutions?
I used a chin strap for the first time last week for one night. I am just now almost able to eat normally again. My jaw was so sore that I couldn't even get my molars to 'line up' to chew correctly. I still have a lot of pain on the left side. I wish I had the money to buy another mask, I'd like to ...

Re: Intellipap data results confusion..
Here is the response I got from Devilbis... Jonathan, Thank you for your email. There is not an internal clock in the unit. The reason it is changing is because, if you check it right after waking up, it has not had a chance to refresh for the new data. You can try waiting about 4 hours after turnin...

Re: new CPAP user, issue with sudden air in mouth waking up
After one night with a chin strap, I am now unable to eat! My molars don't 'line up' anymore and I can't get my jaw to go back far enough to allow a full bite-down. I'm kind of pissed actually. I've never had any jaw/teeth problems before.

Intellipap data results confusion..
Hi all, I'm on day 5 of my treatment and use an Intellipap Standard Plus. When I wake up and shut the machine off, I look through the data for the previous night. It shows AHI, leaks etc. Trouble is, when I look at the numbers again in a few hours they are very different. For example this morning, a...

Re: Aloha Pillow Mask Review
Well, 3rd night with Aloha (or anything) and found it laying next to me when I woke up. Machine said it was in use for 3 hours. I seem to remember my lips blowing out during the night. Will try with chinstrap, but not optomistic that will stop 'blow out'. Otherwise, it's fine, comfortable etc.

Re: new CPAP user, issue with sudden air in mouth waking up
I'm going through the same thing with my nasal mask. My toungue does fine at keeping the 'draft' out until I'm asleep. I will try with a chin strap tonight but once the air starts coming out, it blows my lips open even if my mouth is still 'closed'. I am thinking of getting a regular mask but a) I p...

Re: Aloha Pillow Mask Review
I have had exactly one night with my first CPAP experience and was pleasantly surprised at the quiet of my machine and comfort of my Aloha mask. Still got some tweaking to do (chin strap) but so far, so good.
