Re: CPAP Broke, New Laws, Black Market
My original prescrip a couple of years ago was for a 7 year term. No issues at all using it online when I was paying out of pocket. My current insurance, Antem BCBS, requires a new prescrip every year! And the prescrip has to specify which mask and machine I am to get instead of being whatever I and...

UPDATE
Finally got the mask in a week ago- found a DME that would order it under my insurance- cost me $23 with my insurance paying $200! Could have saved the insurance company $100 ordering it online but they don't allow that- could have had it in days online but it took the DME 3 weeks to get it Had a fe...

Re: OT - Express Scripts (Medco Health) SUCKS!
I hate Express Scripts- but I have to use them or pay a lot more since they are tied to my insurance- through the Anthem BCBS boneheads. My biggest complaint is them always using a 8oz size bottle for 90 pills in the bottom 1/4 " of it...kinda sucks traveling when some drugs better be in their origi...

Re: Question about the FitLife Total Full Face Mask sizing
Thanks M'ohms! Good info. When I started on CPAP I paid for everything myself as my insurance at the time had some ridiculously high deductible, so I bought all my stuff online and came in way under their deductible. My current insurance pays 90% - BUT- I have to buy through one of their approved pr...

Question about the FitLife Total Full Face Mask sizing
Wanting to try the Phillips Respironics FitLife Total Full Face mask but am having difficulty determining the size I need. The templates one prints and cuts out are only for the small and large sizes but they also now offer an XL size mask. Called cpap.com and they said they don't have the XL templa...

Re: What Is The Effect of Sleep Apnea On Your Job?
I have felt sleepy at unexpected times for years, but especially around 2pm. I was diagnosed a year before I actually got serious and started the CPAP. Recently I actually dozed off a couple of times at work and awoke to my co-workers laughter as I snoozed and snorted. So I got serious, got on the C...

Re: Why do some masks not require prescription
My understanding is the mask requires no prescription. The headgear requires no prescription. Put them together as a unit and the result requires a prescription.

Caution about F&P Pilairo silicone tearing-
Had some trouble the other night with my Pilairo leaking badly. Upon inspection I found the silicone portion with the cushions had a tear about 1/2" long in it on top- the silicone is paper thin in this area. I don't know if I inadvertently tore it when fitting the piece back onto the mask part afte...

Re: How often do you change your nasal pillow?
I really wish some enterprising Chinese entrepreneur would start bootlegging CPAP mask parts. There's no excuse for not being able to get a dozen pillows for $30, including shipping. But a year later, you'd hear reports about them having a high asbestos content Hogwash. There have been a few, highl...

Re: F & P Pilairo nasal pillows - does the sore nose diminish ov
Bloody? That is some irritation! I use the F&P Pilairo and prefer it. I did get some irritation consisting of a zit like thing inside the edge of one nostril. But I also have gotten those on my nose bridge using nasal or full face masks. Fortunately the zit like thing resolved quickly with the appli...

The stuff is so hard to get out of a tube I wonder why they don't sell it in a small jar in the first place, or a push up tube like a chapstick.

Re: Deep Cycle Home Backup Supply
How about Sandy sufferers with natgas? Have any of you had your natgas go off during or after the storm? I certainly hope so! I saw video on one of the news feeds of natural gas bubbling out of the water after some sort of underground pipe rupture, it was coming up all over the place.....they were ...
