Re: Swift Fx for Her--cold/wet air flow?
I'm new at this and have not used any other type of mask, but I found that I could not tolerate any heat setting at all (hot flashes ), so I shut it off and I have the humidity set on 1. So far, so good.

Re: My first nite without pap, in 7 years
8 broken ribs...punctured lung...no tape either. They said they wanted me to cough and often..OUCH...with lots of big deep breaths...again big OUCH. Generally they don't suggest taping so much anymore because they want the lungs to not be bound or limited. More important to get the gunk out (if the...

Re: Snoring vs CPAP noise?
Updating everyone after my first night as a hosehead: Bottom line - success! Story: Due to the limitation of a 6 foot hose (can't get a 10 foot heated one?) and the weird configuration of our bedroom (don't ask), we ended up with the machine on a TV tray on the bottom of our king sleigh bed (good t...

Re: 1 full week down
I do believe I can call last night a success! This Swift FX is the BOMB! (compared to that other one) and sexy too (LOL). There is still some adjustments, like the heat and humidity levels to play with (too hot, too humid). I was able to add 4 more feet to the tubing by adding 2 24" short tubes with...

Re: 1 full week down
When I first replied, I had the Swift LT. I saw that you had the FX, so I looked it up and WOW - I called the office that provided my equipment, and they let me come and get (a 25 mile drive) the LT! What a difference! I'm SURE tonight will be a success! Stay tuned!

Re: 1 full week down
I have the same mask and what sounds like similar "issues" as you do. I have wrestled with this for 5 nights now, and only getting a decent night's rest once, when I took a sleeping pill. I can't seem to get comfortable with the pillows on my nose. They initially seemed to be great, but I am now sta...

LOL - Don't get me started! It's a long and pretty funny story!Starlette wrote:@Stinkielee
I don't wish to offend Stinkielee. I had to chuckle when I read your post.
It's usually the papper taking the ambien. Not the other person.
Sincerely, I hope thinks work out for the both of you soon.

Re: Snoring vs CPAP noise?
To Pugsy RE: my machine not offering full data - you are correct. I intend to talk to my MD and/or whoever does the follow-up with me to see if I have any options. When I did the sleep study, I was told that I just barely qualified for CPAP, and when they titrated me, it was apparently a very low se...

Re: What's the longest anyone has had to sleep in another room?
I have had to sleep in another room for the whole of my relationship (6 years so far) due to my "epic" snoring. The exceptional nights have only been tolerated by my boyfriend using Ambien. I just started CPAP and have shared the bed for 3 nights now with pretty good success. I truly hope that we ma...

Re: Snoring vs CPAP noise?
Thank you everyone for your quick replies! I expect to hear from the company who will provide the CPAP today, and I want to be armed with information. I don't know what to expect as far as choices, but at least it sounds like I can't go too wrong with the newer machines and good advice from this pan...

Snoring vs CPAP noise?
My snoring is destroying my relationship! I am 63, non-smoker, occasional wine drinker, physically fit and apparently snore like a freight train. After 6 years with this man who is unable to sleep with this, we have tried everything . Earplugs, white noise, all of the sleep aids on the market, a $30...
